download speed is minimal

Ever since I got my Hp Omen my Xbox has been experiencing heavy packet loss and severe decrease in download speed. Like 1GB an hour bad. I get lucky with 1Mb/s and this has been happening for a few days now. My Xbox has been fine up until i got my new
computer and i have unplugged, moved, and restarted just about everything in every order and don't know what to do.

ideal upload/download speed?

So what is the ideal upload and download speed for gaming, so that lagging and disconnects are at a minimal level and the registrations of hits is the quickest, on xbox live?

As i understand it Upload speed has to with the ability to host games etc, what else does Upload speed control in the game. How much does the Download speed affect the game and in what areas.

I have long been suffering from 1-2mps upload speed from my ISP and it is very apparent in my MP gameplay and so i need to know what is the ideal upload/download speed for gaming ......................

Download speeds can be affected by multiple devices connected on your network. If you plan to download a large game or file, try to make sure all other devices are using minimal resources. For example, no Netflix/Pandora on those other devices or anything
that will use heavy resources.

I know there is a dashboard update coming soon to increase download speeds though sounds like it could be a network problem to me. Any issues with running a speed test on your PC that your ISP provides? Do you have UPnP enabled on your router, any port
forwarding setup?

The speed of your internet has a big impact on the time it take to download/install games and system updates. The games are large and if your internet speed is minimal in can take a lot of time. What is the speed of your internet?

Hi KoKoola,

Sometimes internet speeds can be throttled if your modem or gateway has not been reset in a while. I know this is a "step one" process but some people miss it.

In my case I have downloaded a speedtest app on my phone to test my download and upload speeds daily. I would highly suggest downloading that app and seeing if your ISP is giving you the speeds you pay for.

Also try to minimize wireless connectivity from the modem to pc. Wired connections are the best solution for fluctuations is speed.

How would i go about finding out which the Xbox is on and switching between them?

I have been Network Speed and Statistics checking frequently through the Xbox itself and all those seem great actually. Minimal latency, 0% packet loss, upload and download speeds are also good.
