Download speed has been really slow regardless of what I download

Lately, I've noticed that my download speed has gotten very bad. It's gotten to a point where a ~1GB file (which used to take around 5 mintues) takes 15-20 mins to download. I have tested with turning off/disconnecting everything from the home network that
I could when I download something and it still takes much longer than usual. Today I downloaded a 5GB game and it took over 3 hours to finish the download, something that used to be done in less than an hour. I have also noticed that my downloads take EVEN
longer when I turn off the console and let it download instead of sitting on the dashboard.

I did a network test and my result was:

• Packet Loss: 0%
• Ping: 20 ms
• Upload: 17.82 mbps
• Download: 97.62 mbps

This is all connected by Ethernet to my router. I used the same Ethernet cable connected to the same router to plug in my laptop to make sure I'm getting my ISP speed of 150 up/down and it was fine, so it's clearly not the router at issue.

Any idea what's going on?

Slow connection

Hi,

My download speed on XBL is really slow causing lag and well slow download speed. It's fine on PC. It's been like this for days.

And sometimes I can't even sign in from slow connection speed. (It's Ethernet connection)

 

Need help with internet speeds

my current speed says 768k, 1.5mbps , 3mbps, downloads speeds up to 3mbps. I know thats really slow but what do i really need for xbox live what upload speed download speed do i need? is up to 10mbps download speed up to 1mbps upload speed enough? thanks
for any answers

Hey trickybuz93! My apologies, I was confused on the console you were using. Are you downloading to the internal drive or an external? Additionally, try out the troubleshooter

here and see if it helps resolve your issue. Post back and let me know how it goes!

I followed the steps listed and now the console downloads fairly well when I'm on the dashboard but it's still really slow when I turn off the console.
