    Hello there,

    Let me cut right to it, basically, my internet speed on my Xbox is averaging 130mbps using online speed tests using edge and also the Xbox network settings tool, so yeah pretty fast!

    However I'm installing Halo Wars 2, and it's only able to hit 7mbps to 11mbps even though the speed test shows potential of 130+

    Why is my download speed so fast, but my install so slow?

    My Xboxs bark is bigger than it's bite. Sure it talks a big game saying it's taking in 130mbls but when it comes to using it it can only use 11mbos top, why?

    what is the required internet speed for xbox live?

    The minimum internet speed we recommend for a seamless LIVE experience is 3Mbps download speed and 1Mbps upload speed. Download speed and internet speed massively different :)

    Hi there,

    Are you using WiFi connection or wired connection to connect to Xbox Live?

    Basically your download speed depends on your internet download speed.

    It your internet is not a High Speed Internet service, it may take some time to finish your download. If you have a High Speed Internet, try using wired connection.

    @Mantis852012 its not the xbox at fault as already explained the games are massive compared to last gen and your internet speed plays a massive factor in how long it takes to download a game.

    Test internet speed here http://www.speedtest.net

    then check the amount of time it will take to download Deadrising (24.7GB) here at your internet speed

    For me at my speed (72Mbps) it will take just over 45 mins to download the game.

    So pretty much even though my xbox is getting the speed of Internet at which I am paying for, the Xbox server itself from which I am downloading the game may not be able to give me the full speed? It makes sense to me, I guess I just assumed that the servers
    would be massive enough to support my speed. So do different games and apps download from different servers?

    Download time depends on your internet connection speed.

    The lower your speed the longer it takes.

    I have a 120 Mbps download speed, but this can vary depending on the time of day.

    Halo 5 on the One X was a massive 107GB and took me about 90 minutes to download and install.

    Poor customer service.

    Download speeds depend on your internet provider. You could look into different packages to see if you can increase the speed to download games quicker.

    Took a couple of hours for me but depends on your connection speed.

    Also your DNS settings can make a massive difference regardless of your download speed.

    For instance my ISP is BT and their default DNS servers sometimes connect me to extremely slow download servers meaning a download that should only take minutes can take hours. If I change DNS then games can download as fast as my actual connection speed.

    Using different DNS servers can sometimes speed up your download.
