Download purchased items when abroad (EU)

Hi.

I am a UK citizen with a UK xbox and a UK bank account with a UK xbox profile. I am currently in Germany because of work. I can view the UK marketplace on my xbox 360 and buy games on demand. The problem is, when downloading they always get to 99% and then
show as corrupted. This is apparently due to the store (UK) being different to the consoles physical location (Germany) and xbox can see my IP address.

Xbox support has been a joke. The only answer is to turn my profile into a German profile... but then the market is in German, and the game downloads are in German... this is completely unacceptable, I would not understand them. They need to be in English.

Can anyone help me? Can't Xbox allow me to download my games when im in Germany? It is the EU after all, and I thought this was illegal practice. I only use Steam now, until this is fixed, as Valve do not have these crazy policies in place... hell neither
does EA with Origin. Just Microsoft and xbox.

region purchase restrictions?

Well I guess it could be maybe somethings handled differently post the new dash but, I haven't ever had that problem before and have purchased items and downloaded them abroad. I guess I wont know for sure until I get back home.

Help needed

on fable 3 i purchased and downloaded 3 items. When i go to my sanctuary i go to purchased content and my items are ther but when i click them it pops up asking me to download again or cancel but it still says it has been downloaded. I need to know how to
use and equip these items. Please help

Some content is region locked. In order to download region locked content, your account region and your physical location have to match. There is no way around that.

Region locking is actually done by the publishers, not Microsoft. It's in place because of various rules and regulations in certain regions.

but one game that is locked is halo reach. It is on the German Market. The only difference is the language. It is not cut. This appears to go against free trade laws in the EU. What I find crazy is, Steam doesn't have any of this insanity. I can download
every game without issue. I own 1000 games, from a crazy amount of publishers, so it would seem an issue with Microsoft to me. Well I guess I have to ditch the xbox then, the end of an era, just because I moved 800 miles, but still in the EU.... what a shambles.
God, I'm really starting to hate Microsoft. GFWL was an abomination too, but I expected better of xbox live digital in 2015.

sky go or the likes is no longer viewable in italy (where you state you are) or abroad in the EU since the 1st January this year.

You can still use Sky Go in the UK, just like you do now.

From 1 January 2021, you won’t be entitled to access streamed content outside the UK through Sky Go, Sky Sports and Sky Kids, but some of our apps will let you download and save shows over WiFi before you leave home so you can watch them offline when abroad.

This is because there are certain EU rules which mean people in the EU can use online content services across all EU countries. From 1 January 2021, the UK won’t be part of the EU, so we won’t be able to provide this service in the same way.

This affects lots of online video, music and entertainment services, not just Sky.
