Download progress gets to 79%, then restarts from 0%

Dear XBL Community,

I'm having a serious issue that I don't seem to be able to work around. I'm trying to re-download "Gears of War: Judgement" from XBL. My download starts, slowly gets to 79%, then automatically restarts from 0%

In the past 3 or 4 days I have downloaded over 50 other LARGE games (such as "Thief", "Bioshock Infinite", "Tomb Raider", "Gears of War 3", "Dirt 3" etc...) with
no issues whatsoever. All of those games downloaded and installed fine on the first go. It seems like it's only "GOW: Judgement" that's not willing to go all the way through.

There is no error code - the download just automatically goes from 79% to 0% and starts over. If I left the console there, it would probably be looping forever. I have searched extensively online, and everyone seems to say it is related to
region / physical location. However:

- My profile/account location is the same as my physical location (Hungary)

- My locale and time-zone settings on the console are also set appropriately (Hungary).

- I have more than enough space on my hard drive (over 100 Gb) and flash drive (16 Gb)

I have tried the following:

• Deleting the incomplete file / Clearing System Cache / Restarting XboX
• Deleting my profile / Clearing System Cache / Shutting off & Unplugging XboX for over 5 minutes / Restarting XboX / Re-Downloading profile
  
• Deleting Market Place Data / Clearing System Cache / Restarting XboX
• Clearing System Cache / Shutting off & Unplugging XboX for over 5 minutes / Removing Hard Drive / Putting HD back in / Restarting Xbox / Clearing Cache
  
• Running initial setup / Clearing System Cache / Restarting XboX

I also downloaded other games between trying to download "GOW: Judgement" to try and avoid it downloading the files to the same spot on my HD everytime

I also tried on a 16GB flash drive

NONE of the above helped.

I'm 100% certain that:

• My Internet connection (Wired, straight from the modem) is good/fast enough - Other (over 50) large games downloaded just fine
  
• My hard drive and flash drive are both in full working order with no corrupt sectors - All other games download fine
  
• My xbox account is correctly set up - as I've said - I've downloaded over 50 large games with no issues - It's just this one game that's doing this
  

Please help, because I almost feel like there is something wrong with "GOW: Judgement" itself?!

I have contacted Microsoft Support, but they assured me there was nothing wrong with this specific download on their end.

So, why is it that I can easily download over 50 other, even larger games, and
even another GOW game (Gears of War 3 downloaded fine), but not
GOW: Judgement... I downloaded over 100Gbs worth of data with no issues, yet this one game keeps messing me up.

Hey, InsecureAlarm29! What you are running into is definitely indicative of an issue with your region as a whole. Have you recently moved to Hungary or switched your region there? That could be what's causing the issue.

Sometimes, when you do a region migration, you also need to do a
license transfer for them to work properly. This can resolve issues with games that you purchased in another region.

However, if you've done that already, there could be further issues that we would want to look into for you.

Give the license transfer a try and let us know if that works for you.

 

Hey there! Thanks for the response, I migrated the account over a week ago, and did the license transfer as well.

The other (over 50 large games) downloaded and installed fine, including Gears of War 3... don't understand why GoW: Judgement won't install

I'm only assuming this, but shouldn't other downloads have this issue - if my location was wrong?

I have gone through the standard troubleshooting procedure with 3 different online advisers, 3 different times.

Every other game I re-downloaded last week works & plays fine, including some large games, AAA titles like Bioshock Infinite, Gears of War 3, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Dirt 3, Dirt Showdown, Thief, Sacred 3, Defiance, Just Cause 2, The Walking
Dead, SP The stick of Truth, SP Tenorman's Revenge etc...

Judgment should be working and installing if everything else is. The Gears of War games are really weird when it comes to regions, so I wanted to make sure that you had done a full transfer before continuing. It very well could be something else.

To make sure you're downloading it from the Marketplace and not your Download History, let me know if you're following these steps:

• Scroll to the Games Hub
• Select Search Games
• Search for "Gears of War: Judgment"
• Select the game from 2013
• Select Download Again

If you're following those steps, or it doesn't work for you, let me know. We'll get you handed off to the right people to look into any possible license issues.

Apologies about the late response - I was away for a week.

I have tried both "Marketplace" and "Download History" downloads - both did the same. 79%, and then 0%

What can we do? It's still just this one game doing this: Gears of War: Judgement

My profile seems to be set up all correctly, my account should be set up & updated, my xbox and HD are both in full working order, and all other games download and play fine... Don't know what to do?!

 

Should I just give up on this game?

 

So it turns out it's the fact that my account was migrated - Certain games don't seem to like the fact that I'm in Hungary at the moment. As I'm slowly re-downloading my old collection I'm running into more and more issues that I didn't have before, because
of region-locked content - as it seems.

I'm extremely disappointed. Tried to get my account migrated back by a Microsoft Online Team's Supervisor "Sharita" who informed me that they couldn't override the locale-setting, and that the best they can do is "coach" the adviser that told me to migrate
my account (who failed to tell me how it would affect my account, and that I couldn't change it back for 3 months)

So I guess I'll just have to wait?! :-/
