setting a static IP on the xbox just means youre deciding the IP instead of the router assigning the IP to the xbox

When you wire it, disconnect from the wifi so it doesnt try to use it... and wired does make a difference... i get 1/4 of my provided speed when through wifi and massive lag spikes

If you cant figure out your router and were comfortable with something like teamviewer, I could probably just do it for you up to plugging in the xbox and setting up the static ip on it

Edit: even after all that stuff i still have issues with downloads but strict nat/closed ports and wifi arent going to help the situation...

 

But my nat type is open and I'm not sure about my ports anymore since I pushed the reset button on my router

What is teamviewer? At this point I'm down for almost anything to get this fixed b4 the release of bfv

 

Ah well if nat is open then theres no reason to play with ports... was just suggesting teamviewer because itd allow me remote access to your PC so i could access your router and set it up. doesnt matter anyways...

Id disconnect from the wifi entirely (forget? the network) plug it in with a ethernet cable, and set a static IP... just figure out what the private IP of your computer or phone is

should be something like 192.168.0.xx or 192.168.1.xx just enter the IP on the xbox as that but the last section have it as 100

subnet should be 255.255.255.0 (dont need to figure this one out, its the same for everyone pretty much)

then the gateway should be number 1 on your network... so 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

DNS you can use whatever you want... I use 1.1.1.1 primary and 1.0.0.1 secondary

 

I don't have a PC the only way I am able to alter my router settings is by logging onto it through my phone. you said that a wired connection should show a noticeable difference, what if it doesn't? I know that my router/modem isn't "bad" because the
ps4 flies through downloads over wifi. and my wireless strength on my xbox 1s 100%

I think that the problem is the connection from my router to EA/battlefield 1 servers. I'm really hoping to get this fixed b4 the release of bfv but I've been dealing with this issue for over a year, have tried numerous times to get help yet here I am still
and this is the most help I've been able to get on the issue. thanks

 

On the built in speed test you should see an immediate difference, if not then you havent disconnected from the wifi, or a cable issue...remember to keep ethernet cables away from AC power cables

Also I think downloads are all hosted from MS servers, its just EA servers that are used for online sessions/lobbies

Xbox One slow download speeds reported by many players

At least its being addressed somewhere... If the problem isnt accepted as a real problem, nothing will ever be done about it.

Edit: On page 2 i see your photo of the download speed test... that was on Wifi correct?

 

Well I have really fast speeds on my internet provider and to be honest on my case all my consoles download everything fast no matter what...I dont know why you are having this issue at all.

 

For the (Mod Removed-Profanity) of it I went and dropped 300$ on networking stuff... WRT1900AC, CAT6 STP cabling, etc

Problem didnt change in the slightest. Now getting a new (different model entirely) modem from my ISP.

 

Yes sir that was on Wi-Fi and the reason i said anything about EA servers is because the only games i have major connection issues with are EA games mostly bf 4,1, &5

 

I would reset my router and let my games downloading as well turn off others device using wifi

I paid 700$ for a peice of [Mod Removed-Profanity] xbox that cannot even download a game, In this day and age, we still have server issues?

Stop blaming your customers and accept the
[Mod Removed-Profanity] problem for what it is

Until its FIXED you need to stop telling your customers its their problem. If some ISP has an issue with throttling you guys, thats not my problem that i happen to be with that ISP, that an issue between you and the ISP.

d3monkid12, if youre on wifi they will always blame the issue on that, plus wifi does suck unless its AC and your directly in front of it (i think only the X has AC capability)

Wires are cheap, wire it up (making sure to keep it away from ac power cables as much as possible) and open the specific ports to be sure its not a UPnP issue

 

Usually the download is faster on Xbox, install from disk is faster on Ps...at least for me.
