Are you playing games while you updating?

 

No as xbox and ps4 and nintendo uses different protocols and ports

And yes consoles are treated differently

 

It might be an issuer with the hard drive. I would suggest that you try an external USB hard drive attached to your Xbox. That is what I use and it works great.

 

There are so many different reasons that could be causing this, just to list a few:

Is it the same game?

If they are different games, are they the same file size?

How many other devices are connected to the same network, and what are those devices doing?

 

sometimes yes but not usually. if I absolutely have to play a game while something else is updating I pause the update but I try not to do that at all

 

ok? so does that mean that there is something wrong with the ports or protocols in relation to my xbox? is there a way to figure out what/if is wrong with the ports or protocols?

 

I have 2 extr. hard drives a 1tb & 2tb + a 1tb system made sure all content is on same hard drives as game

 

have done same game once on each system as I am not known to buy playstation games I play mostly xbox but that same game took 10× longer to install on xbox (slow like always) but even games/files download way faster on my ps4 than on my xbox ps4 is farther
away from router than xbox which is between the ps4 and the router along with a smart tv & 3 walls tv is active device on router tablet and phone sometimes all at same time but never all doing something at same time. yes I understand app can b updating or
running in background on devices but if I'm not using them I turn wifi off and usually turn on airplane mode for said device tv has no problems streaming movies but my xbox can take 5 minutes to play a 3 minute game clip not trying to bash or trash I really
need some help in figuring this out I know most other people's xbox isn't like this something has to be wrong

 

just sayin (not my thread so dont mean to intrude too much) but I have disabled my WiFi entirely and unplugged all ethernet cords except the xbox one x's. still the same issue

 

no worries bro say as much as you need on this thread, whatever it takes to get this issue fixed cuz it sure doesn't seem like Microsoft cares to help its customers

I started installing war thunder at midnight last night, it is now 7:18pm (19 hrs 18 min since start of install) I have a total of 14.67GB of 22.73GB installed flowing at a whopping

10-14Mb/s. my ps4 had it installed in under an hour I do not wish to switch to ps

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Thanks for the replies. Sorry to hear about the issue with
slow download times on Xbox One. To help clarify:

• Have you been able to power cycle the network hardware and the console?
• Have you Port forwarded in the network configuration settings?
• Have you Created a Static IP address for your Xbox One console?
• Have you checked the Network contention on your home network?
• By chance, is the console connected to a power strip, surge protector?
• Do you have any wireless headsets connected?

Example:

If you're installing a 40-GB file and it's 25 percent downloaded (30 GB remaining) and your connection speed is 10 Mb/s, it should take about 4.4 hours for the download to complete. (This assumes that the download speed stays the same.)
While connect to Xbox Live, your connection speed should be at least 1.5 Mb/s for the best experience.

Already did that. Thread went nowhere, nothing more to troubleshoot... went even further than everything mentioned in that thread and have replaced modem/router setup entirely, contacted ISP, etc... the problem is on MS's end.

 

●Have power cycled both my console and the router

●Not sure about port forwarding but EA emailed me a list of ports that EA need open for bf1 and a list of ports that xbox requires, told me to get a hold of my isp and have them make sure those ports were open. I called, they checked, then they dmz my
xbox after I told them not to. I ended up removing/forgetting my router from all my devices including my xbox then I went and pushed the reset button on the back of my router and then reconnected my xbox & other devices whenever I needed them

●have not created static ip address because I don't want to end up messing something up

My network is not the best but I have 100% signal strength & a wired connection makes little to no difference

●I do have my xbox connected to a power strip/surge protector. Is that a problem? I thought it was best to have it plugged in to something like that. Please let this be what's causing my problem.

●I do not have a wireless headset mine plugs into my controller

I comprehend the download times and all that. Yahoo see the thing is, that I have another console that is not xbox, it's farther away from the router than my xbox is with more devices in between them including the xbox. The other console (not an xbox)
takes less than half the time to install the same game
