download forza horizon and when playing it it appears to me that the disc can not be read

So I was about to post about how I just bought Forza Horizon from Games on Demand and was unable to play because I keep getting a disc read error (which is weird considering there is no disc), but when I read the license transfer post I figured I'd try that
since the Xbox I'm trying to play on isn't the same one bought it on. So transferred my licenses to the Xbox I'm trying to play Forza Horizon on and I'm still getting the disc read error. Did I just waste my money on this game?

There unfortunately is a glitch in the GoD version of Forza Horizon where it will only play on the console it was initially purchased/downloaded. If you download it to another console, it will give you this disc read error when you try to play it. This has
been a known issue for many months and there is at this time no definite fix - even a license transfer doesn't work many times.

Were you connected to Xbox Live when you tried your game disc? Does the disc work on an Xbox 360?

Just an FYI, you don't actually play BC Xbox games from the disc. The disc is only read by the Xbox One to verify ownership, the game itself is downloaded from Xbox Live and runs off the hard drive. Which is why you need to be connected to Live the first
time you start the game. Once you have the download, you can just insert your Forza Horizon disc and play offline.

I am also having the same issue with Forza Horizon. I have have tried everything I can and it still shows the Disc read error which makes no sense at all considering its a downloaded game.

Sorry to hear about your issues with Forza Horizons, I know that ones been giving a lot of people headaches.

These are not official support solutions, but something I've heard worked for others is to delete your copy of Forza Horizons, download demos or trailers or anything free, totaling about the same size as Forza (Try to get at least 0.1 G over) and then
redownload Forza Horizons from your download history.

Also, if you have a friend who has the disc version of the game, delete your GonD version of Forza, then you can install the disc to your hard drive, redownload your GonD copy, and you should be able to play your GonD without the disc after that.
