    Download fluctuations in Xbox PC App and Xbox Series S. How to fix ?


    I started downloading Doom the Dark Ages as soon as it launched. In my PC and on Xbox Series S.

    Xbox PC App- The download fluctuates frequently. But luckily, using a VPN works, and I was able to complete the download.

    Xbox Series S - This is where I intent to play. But, the download has been a nightmare. It goes to 100 MB/s and suddenly drops to 0. Happens frequently. Since yesterday, I am able to download only 77% and it takes forever.

    I have a few devices :-

    1. Laptop
      • Steam, Ubisoft Connect, EA Play, Xbox PC App, GoG, Battle.net, etc.
    2. PS5
    3. Nintendo Switch
    4. Xbox Series S
    This download fluctuations ONLY happens in the Xbox PC App and in the Xbox Series S. Nintendo Switch, with even worse WiFi device, has a stable download than the Series S.

    Here is what I have tried so far -

    1. Tried connecting to a different Internet, and also tried connecting to Mobile hotspot
    2. Reset Xbox Series S
    3. Reset the router
    4. Try downloading different games than Doom the Dark Ages
    None of these are working.

    I am so frustrated right now. Any help here ?

    Hello AsishBishoi, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

    If you're able to please try connecting the console via ethernet cable to see if the issue persists. I do see that you did reset your router though. If you don't mind I'd like you to try that one more time. However, this time first powercycle the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down then unplug it for 5 minutes.

    During this time unplug both your modem/router for at least 60 seconds. When the time limit is up plug the modem in first and wait for the internet to start up then plug the modem in and wait for it to connect before trying again on the console.

    Xbox series x or s or pc?

    And no xbox one s or x don't count they aren't even series

    Why would you think 10 year old hardware would run a game that give 3-5 year old pcs trouble

    Once redeemed on series x or s you download via your ready to install

    If you are talking about pc well depends what you redeemed it on xbox app or steam you download via whichever app you download it kn

    The game is only available on the Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S, which is why you can not see it on the PC app, as only PC games are shown on the PC app store. If you do purchase the game, yes it will show up on your Xbox console for you to download.

    Go to Settings>System>Console Information

    And restart keeping your games.

    Note that the console accounts will be removed, so you will need to have the email and password for each account to log back in.

    Your progress, achievements, purchases and other data will remain intact, don't worry about that, you won't lose any data, the only thing you need to do is to log in again.
