    Download failures with console turned off on xbox one


    Is there any way I can fix my problem? I already did the hard reset like 3 times this day and xbox support didn't help me at all they did make thing worse by telling me to uninstall my games. All this happened to me after an update on my xbox.

    Hi. I highly doubt anyone had damaged your xbox. Any device can suffer a failure suddenly. Take a look at this Troubleshoot xbox
    turning off     and work through the possibilities on here to eliminate problems.

    There shouldn't be an issue with it. The 360 had a background download option that would allow it to be turned off while downloading with no issue. I have been turning off my Xbox One console while downloading as well with no problems.

    Hey there folks!

    With Xbox One, installs/downloads will finish even if the console is powered off or placed into standby mode. So feel free to start a download before bed and turn your console off, if you wish. ^_^

    Assuming it's a physical failure of the button on the faceplate of an original 360 console, you can turn the console on and off via the controller. Hold the Guide button to get the power-off menu. Press the Guide button to turn the console on.



    If you have a 360 S, well, that's barely a year old. Might be worth a repair if it's still in warranty.
