Dovetail Games Euro Fishing

Yeah but the graphics in Soda Drinker Pro makes Pong look like a technical powerhouse. The graphics in the fishing game look like the shizznit.

HAHA....once the price dropped from $113 to $18 I took the bait. (see what I did there?) Downloading it now...

 

2 things stick out like a sore thumb as you start this game.

Firstly, you cannot invert the Y axis. If it's the way you like great... if it's not, then it's frustrating but not game breaking but it does seem a huge oversight for a 21st Century game.

Secondly this game makes ZERO use of controller vibration. This is very poor since the classic games that made Fishing a viable genre always took advantage of this feature, the Rumble Pack in "Zelda: Ocarina of Time" the Rumble Rod in "Sega Bass Fishing".
To completely ignore this feature in a fishing game seems ridiculous and crazy.

But get past these unfortunately very glaring flaws and the game is a fun fishing game.

It's a little different than your "Sega Bass" or "Rappalla" series that came before it in that you aren't using spinning lures that you pull through the water trying to attract a bite.

Instead you put the right bait on the right bottom (reeds, gravel, silt) and wait for a bite.

You take your character out to a spot and set up to 3 rods and wait for bites.

Being a pro you have "line sensors" that let you know when a rod's got a bite and you real that one in.

The fishing is still alright fun despite the lack of vibration but it's a bit weird and sometimes even chaotic when 2 or all 3 of your rods suddenly get bites at the same time.

It's early in the game but there appear to be an extensive amount of lures, rods, reels, hooks and baits to unlock to expand your tackle box.

Best fishing game on the XBox ONE because it's the only fishing game on the Xbox ONE.

Pretty looking but will probably easily be topped by whatever company can be bothered to make something that makes the controller vibrate.

One can only assume the 2 things were...

1 - It sucks

2 - It still sucks

 

That's the trouble with the kids nowadays.

Attention span of some of the stuff you'll reel in with this game.

It's an alright fishing game that could be a lot better.

Still nice relaxing fun until Rapalla or someone finally make a "fulls bells and whistles" fishing game.

Patch is in the works to address all the issues Az posted.

It really does need controller vibration.Despite the flaws I really do like this game,even without the dynamite option.
