Double Security Check-in Xbox 360

Every time I go back to my 360, I get this stupid popup. I thought I had turned it off via "My Account" on here, but apparently not. Does anyone know how to fix this? I don't want a 2nd email/phone # on the account.

I can't message people and when i try it just comes up saying 'Message can not be sent'.

I deleted my account but when itry and redownload it just comes up with the same error message!!

2 step verification?

You can turn that off via your account details in Hotmail.com / outlook.com

Go to the top right and select account > security. You can turn it off and filter a lot of stuff through there if this is the right thing?

 

^^ When I boot up my 360 and sign in, every once in a while it will prompt me to add a 2nd phone # or email address to the account. I'm pretty sure someone directed me awhile back to the account settings on here to turn it off, which I did, but it still
randomly prompts me.

 

This is related. When ever I try to sign into my account on my console, the first time always fails and brings up an error message, but the second time always works. It's really irritating but I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem.

Also, another thing which bugs me is the fact it always asks if I want to save my password and also asks if my details are correct. This is also really irritating as I have to wait about 10 seconds for each box to close when I select an answer. Surly this
is something which should be on the My Account section and not as a pop up every time I log on?

 

This happens to me at least once a week and does somewhat annoy me. I just back out and try again and get through no problem.

 

I have the update info pop-up.. the whole xbox 'experience' is annoying, a few times a week the pop up on the console.. I just hit the "B" button and it signs in..

then the entire "second email" validation on the PC login.. with the slight annoyance of having to set up yet another email... and the xtra time to log in.. wait for that confirmation msg to finally arrive. open the msg copy and paste the code.. the thinking
behind the whole process is understandable.... but if someone's been able to get ahold of one account password odd's are they got the rest too :-S

 

Ah I know what you guys mean now (Mafivee turned a light bulb on in my head). This happens to my wife as well but just like Mafivee, she backs and tries again and gets through no issue. You guys should try turning 2 step on and then turning it back off just
in case its caught in some sort of crazy loop, if it is 2 step that's making it act like that. If it the problem persists or become a huge irritation then I would go through to support / support forums and see what they suggest.

Wills, if I remember correctly, the password you use for 2 step on the console is a unique generated 'app password' which is different to the password you set yourself

 

So, here's where you can manage the Security on your account. I turned 'On' the 2-step process and then turned it
off, hopefully this fixes it.

Still no luck. It prompted me again to add a second phone#/email addy.

 

i get it every single time i sign in, it asks me for my new number so i add it have to wait 30 days only for it not to work when it does change, good idea gone bad
