    Double NAT on Xbox One


    I am currently trying to open up my NAT type, which is currently strict with a double NAT. I've called my ISP, and they've assigned my router a public IPv6, and so all traffic passing through it should show as public as well. They suggested I set up a
    DMZ, but I am unsure of what to set the server as. Am I supposed to set up its own IP address, or am I supposed to set it as the static IP I set for my Xbox? No rush to figure this out, but assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

    I'd be happy to try and help

    If you have a gateway then there is no need for a modem. The double NAT is due to the modem possibly acting as an access point therefore giving the Xbox a double NAT. A gateway is sort of like a router and modem combined into one device, so it has a wireless
    signal and also receives the network data from your service provider. I suggest taking the Netgear modem out of the set up and the NAT type should restore after a

    power cycle     to your Xbox.

    Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. The Nat type switching between open to moderate to Double is definitely a problem. We would want the NAt type to remain on Open for the best multiplayer performance. Check out these links to help you out. I
