DOOM Eternal on Game Pass Won't Load

    DOOM Eternal on Game Pass Won't Load


    I just downloaded and installed DOOM Eternal on PC via Game Pass and promptly tried to load the game, as I wanted to make any setting adjustments before I played.

    I discovered however, the game refuses to load at all. Nothing happens whatsoever, not even any SSD LED activity. The only indication that it's TRYING to load is the DOOM Eternal entry in Task Manager, with two sub-processes... DOOMEternal64vk and IdTechLauncher.

    IdTechLauncher is the first to disappear, then DOOMEternal64vk then DOOM Eternal itself. The IdTechLauncher icon appears in the taskbar for a brief period, then disappears. Nothing shows in the Event Viewer either, despite it technically being a software
    crash.

    I've tried using the Repair and Reset option in the App Settings, but this did nothing. I tried restarting the PC after the install, that did nothing.

    It's on the same SSD as Forza Horizon 4, Streets of Rage 4 and Cuphead, and they all load and play fine. But for some DOOM Eternal seems to have been broken, or bugged out for whatever reason.

    No ideas what else I can do to try and fix a Game Pass game as I've never had one **** out on me RIGHT AFTER it's installed. I've found several others having similar issues, but only with the Steam version.

    Does anyone have any ideas to why DOOM Eternal won't load? I know it only came out very recently on Game Pass PC so anyone having this problem might not know what to do.

    EDIT: I checked Event Viewer again. Nothing under Application, but found this under System. Each entry was listed at the same time I tried to open DOOM Eternal.

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

    {37399C92-DC3F-4B55-AE5B-811EE82398AD} and APPID {37399C92-DC3F-4B55-AE5B-811EE82398AD} to the user PURECHAOSX-SSD\Forza SID (S-1-5-21-133573850-3241178121-492414644-1001) from address LocalHost
    (Using LRPC) running in the application container Microsoft.GamingApp_2012.1001.6.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe SID (S-1-15-2-1723189366-2159580849-2248400763-1481059666-1951766778-2756563051-3565589001).

    This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    Any ideas as to what this means?!

    Cant download any game pass games onto pc.

    Doom Eternal is available for the console through Game Pass, but not PC.

    Doom Eternal is included in the Ultimate version of the pass, not in the common one

    I have Xbox GamePass Ultimate, but Xbox App on PC only recognizes the standard GamePass

    Ultimate is just a bundled subscription of Gold, Game Pass for console, and Game Pass for PC. It doesn't change what games are available on Game Pass. Doom Eternal is available with Game Pass for PC.

    I appreciate your response in such short time. i tried everything you said but non of them worked and I had to perform a clean windows re-install.

    the problem was most likely a problem with the Beta version of Xbox app so I won't join the insider program this time.
