DOOM beta set for PS4, Xbox One and PC

I will always remember loading the first Doom on my dad's PCjr. The computer was to slow to run the game properly.... reload was a pain (talk about major lag!!!!)...... the pump action shot gun was super slow motion.... enjoyed it back then even under
those conditions...

I downloaded DOOM from the Xbox LIVE Arcade last year ( I've played all of them since they started ) Even though you couldn't compare it "visually" to FPS made in recent years I still think it played better than most of them so I really can't wait to see
what DOOM 4 ( and Wolfstein ) has to offer

 

Unreal Tournament was epic! Best one from the saga (the 2000 edition if I'm right).

Q3A is a game where you have to of played it during initial release to be able to go back and fully enjoy it again. Or at least that's how I see it.

Still, like Lofty, I am really excited to see what D4 has ready for us. They don't usually hand out bad material so this should be an awesome fest of blood and explosions!

 

@Cloud, Ive just rifled through my draws at work and dug out UT 2003 and UT 2004 both tournament editions.

I still have the 1996 original somewhere - best twitch shooter ever.

Back on topic i literally cannot wait for wolfenstein and doom, i really hope they perform better than duke nukem reboot did!

Original Unreal was awesome, I remember drooling at the graphics and being so pleased my PC could max it out at the time. I'm such a "Back in the day" Kind of guy, sorry

 

Why was Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament so awesome to us when connection speeds were slow and the graphics were hideous? Why!?? Well, it's because it was a relatively new experience and wow, even with the incredible lag I experienced while using a
14.4 dial up modem, I was having a ridiculous amount of fun.

Biz, I remember that lag. Reading your post made me reminisce the time I remember people making fun of me because of my connection as I saw what they typed over and over. Your spot on, didn't spoil the fun in the slightest! The taunts were too funny too!

 

That's the original Unreal Tournament, Cloud - I had that one, 2003 and 2004 Editions. I've played them all. I would join you guys, but sadly, my family gave my last remaining copy to my uncle a few months ago. :'(

 

I thought so GG. It's hard to keep track with a lot of the ports / re-releases that came out but if that's the original then its my fave UT to date. I tried UT3 for the 360 and it just didn't hit me like the original did. Man, so much fun I had on that game.
Doom has always stayed true to its roots in my opinion which is why I am so excited for the next instalment. Its a franchise that isn't over done either.
