    DOOM beta set for PS4, Xbox One and PC


    Folk who preorder next month's Wolfenstein will gain access to id's next title in the legendary horror series, Doom. But Bethesda has confirmed that the beta will be exclusive to the new generation even though PS3 & Xbox 360 preorders include beta access.

    I like "Doom".

    Even if "Doom 3" marked the end of PC gaming.

    I'm super excited for the new Wolfenstein and the Doom beta access is a massive bonus for an old nerd such as myself. Makes me wonder if we will ever see a reboot of Heritic?

    I played them all....Heretic, Hexen, Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake....the list goes on and on. Even if Doom 3/BFG weren't necessarily good experiences, I'll get whatever they crank out.

    I'm not interested in Doom multiplayer. Can't wait for the campaign, though. Doom 3 was a great game.

    Anyone try out Quake 3 arena on the 360? The remake was fantastic. You are somewhat crippled though having to use a controller. I couldn't even use my very favorite weapon of all time...the Railgun.

    I've played the original Doom and Castle Wolfenstein games, but not much with Quake. The 1st Unreal Tournament was the game that really got my attention back in the day of twitch arcade shooters.

    Quake 3 Arena was awesome! It was better for me on the D'cast but I still loved it for the 360. I'm very excited to play DOOM 4 when its released. I'm like Biz, I have played them all and would still play them again.

    Hexen, funny how long ago that was. Oh the days fly by :/

    I remember friends showing me Quake 3 Arena years ago - my response? "Unreal Tournament looks and plays better." I finally tried it for myself when it became free to play online, but by then I was too far gone with more current-gen games to really care for
    it.
