Doom (2016) Looking to Purchase, Question about Xbox One X Performance

Hello everyone,

I'm a huge fan of the Doom franchise and I've enjoyed the games since the original
Doom Shareware came out in 1993. When Doom (2016) came out, I didn't have a PC that was powerful enough to play it, or a current generation console, so I had to wait. Long story short, I now have a proper PC
and an Xbox One X!

I downloaded both the PC and Xbox One demo and have tried both (I played through the PC demo first and thrice), and the game plays great on both platforms. I game in 1080p, and both versions seemed to be at a solid 60 FPS, which is fantastic. My PC can
play the game on Ultra Settings, and this is where I noticed the major difference between the two versions: Texture and lighting quality. The Xbox One version did seem to have lesser texture quality, and lesser lighting, but it by no means looked ugly. The
PC version was noticeably better, however.

I suspect the Xbox One demo, released long before the Xbox One X launched, was never patched to properly take advantage of the hardware. Would that be correct? Assuming so, I know the game plays at 4K (mostly) on the Xbox One X, and it'll supersample down
for me at 1080p like my other games, but how does it perform via supersampling, and does it have a higher texture quality on the Xbox One X over the Xbox One, or has that remained unchanged?

Basically, I'm looking to purchase the game, and the Xbox One version is currently on sale for 50% off, making that the more attractive purchase.
But the PC version does look noticeably better, making it the version I'd prefer to get. I don't want to pay the full price on Steam when I can get the same game for half off, thus my quandary.

I could always go to G2A where the PC version is even cheaper than the sale price of the Xbox One version, but I'm leery of key reseller sites.

Thoughts?

For reference, my PC's specs are:

- Intel Core i5 4440 @ 3.10 GHz

- 16 GB DDR3 Ram

- nVidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Windforce OC 6G with the 445.75 Drivers

- Windows 10 Home November 2019 Update

- Samsung SyncMaster P2270 using HDMI to DVI

- Xbox Wireless Controller

The processor is my system's weakest link, and I know if I wanted the sequel, I'd need to upgrade or simply get the Xbox One version. For the Xbox One X version of
Doom (2016), I have read about frame rate issues related to super sampling, thus why I'm asking above.

On an aside, the only gameplay difference I noticed between the two versions was right at the beginning, after you get your Pistol and kill the first group of Possessed. On the PC version, all three times I played it, the Doom Guy then looks at the Pistol
up close and kind of pops it open (I think looking at it's mod). This did not occur at all on the Xbox One version. Not sure if there's something you need to do to trigger it, or if it is a minor difference in the versions.
