Don't waste your money on a Xbox Elite Controller

15 months ago I received a much anticipated Xbox Elite Controller for my birthday. $200 seemed extreme for a controller, but it felt very nice to hold and looked the goods. Not long after I started using it the first thing I noticed was the triggers, if
held in too tightly, would move a little sideways and get stuck. A little pry with a tool would easily make it pop back out. but I felt really disappointed that what seemed to be a high quality, well built product was really flimsy compared with the standard
controller. Anyway, 15 months down the track and the rubber material on the bottom and sides where you hold the controller, has split at the seam running along the middle underneath the controller on the left hand side, and has completely come away from the
grip. It's just pathetic and terrible workmanship. Plus, I have continued to suffer from the triggers getting stuck inside the controller. which of course completely ruins your game because you have to stop to release the trigger. A mate I play games with
just randomly happened to mention that a mate of his had an elite controller, (we weren't even talking about them as such), and he was saying that they are just flimsy pieces of crap that aren't worth half of what Micro$oft charge for it. And sadly, I must
say I have to agree. As I said, compared to the standard everyday controller, the so called 'Elite Controller' is complete and utter trash. It's so flimsy and really, for a $130 premium over the standard controller, it has nothing to really offer that's worth
that much more $$$. So basically, if anyone is considering buying one of these pieces of trash controllers, DON'T. Save your money and get some games, because just after the warranty runs out, you'll find it falling apart and like me, you will realize that
you've been stung big time buy the Micro$oft hype machine. I honestly can't believe they have the gall to sell an inferior product that falls apart, at such premium prices. Micro$oft, as usual, care only about the money. Quality obviously matters not. So please,
please steer clear of this sub par product. Here's a little preview of what you can expect from this hunk of junk.

dont bother with elite, dont waste your money..all that money to get just 2 new maps a little bit sooner..at least people without elite have the chance not to waste their money on cr**p maps

Ok. It's pretty obvious to see that I'm quite upset that my Elite controller is falling apart after only 15 months. So I decided to contact Microsoft support through the chat and I gotta admit, the guy I dealt with was absolutely brilliant. He showed empathy
and understood why I was so unhappy. Needless to say, he arranged for the best possible outcome. He told me it was still in warranty and they could arrange a replacement. So a huge thankyou goes out to Ian V at support. You were awesome in your handling of
this matter. I just hope the next one lasts longer than this one.

 

I have the exactly same issue with the rubbery parts on the controller and I'm honestly quite disappointed, yeah I've got mine repaired twice already and yet the exact same issue has recurred for a third time. When I first bought my elite controller i thought
that it would last like my Astro headset.
