Don't get it. Multiplayer option on X-LIVE

I don't get it.. In the web it is written that Multiplayer gaming is allowed for both Xbox LIVE and Xbox LIVE GOLD accounts. But i can't play multiplayer mode in games unless i subscribe to GOLD. Marketing trick?

Rock Band 2 X-Box live no work

When i go to get onto Rock Band 2 for X-Box live on my 360 it says, "In order to play on X-Box live you need to be signed into an X-Box live enabled gamer profile with X-Box live Multiplayer privileges enabled with X-Box Live"



I have a X-Box live membership and as far as i know the multiplayer is enabled. I have played Halo Reach and other games on X-Box live so i am confused as to why its not letting me play this on live.

I did this too and talked with Customer Support. They said you can't play on PC with Game Pass. Even though a Sea of Thieves ad pops up at my Windows 10 start button for the Microsoft Store, and clearly says "Play Free with Game Pass" with $59.99 crossed
out. Why would this pop up on my Windows 10 PC when you can't play on PC with Game Pass? It's very misleading. Plus, now that I've activated my two-week trial on Game Pass, it's going to be wasted. They can't pause it ... I asked.

Everything I find says multiplayer gaming requires Gold.

There are random times when gold is not and someone has Gold -free weekends, or game specific free weekends. Or if you are on an Xbox One you can do multiple gaming provided it's the home console of a Gold user.

You can see that image when you are in Xbox.com web when you are logged off. Then go to "Meet Xbox live". That's why I asked is it a marketing trick or something (cuz ppl that are not signed in for LIVE would want to create an account, and then after reading
about GOLD deals would want subscribe etc..)

So there is no multiplayer without GOLD membership? (Except those weekend deals, etc..)

Then I think it would be the right thing to remake the part of the web I sent a pic here..

But that's just my opinion..

it's indeed showing on that page, I don't think it's a marketing trick but more a error in that overview on the webpage.

I'll try to forward it to have it checked.

To answer your question, No, multiplayer is not included, you will need a Gold subscription to play online multiplayer games (except for those free weekends, that happen once in a while)
