Dont Automatically Renew your xbox live

When you renew your xbox live with a credit card and have it on automatic renewal its almost impossible to cancel it, i have done all the steps to and the xbox just says "oops it looks like you've found a glitch in the system" so what ever you do dont automatically
renew!

How to turn off auto renewal

It is recommended that you cancel your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership using the option of turning off automatic renewal. If auto renewal is "off", your membership will expire at the end of its current term.

Steps to follow:

1) If you are not already signed in, click Sign In at the upper right hand corner and sign in using your Microsoft account.

2) Proceed to My Account.

3) Click Change next to automatic renewal. Change the setting to OFF

You will be able to continue enjoying all the benefits of Xbox LIVE Gold Membership until your paid membership time expires.

Note:

If you want to cancel or disable your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership immediately, you should contact Xbox support. Use the Request a Call from Support option on the official Xbox Contact Us page. Your account cannot be canceled through chat or email.

If you disable your account immediately, you will lose the time remaining on your membership subscription.

If you are on a 2 Year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract, and you want to cancel before the end of the 2 years, you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and other applicable taxes. Once the two-year agreement period is over, your account will not be renewed automatically.

You can cancel the 2 Year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract using the option of self-cancel your subscription on Xbox.com

That's stupid! They could just send you a message saying your subscription is running out in X days renew or it will stop...

 

It will always auto renew if you don`t turn it off, posting here won`t make a difference.

If you can not do it on your console or on this site, you will need to call support.

 

aside from that, there are lots of great deals for it through the year. I never pay more than $35 for a year of gold.

 

Just turn it off, my last sub was about £23 from CDkeys I think.

 

Just buy your membership in prepaid code form. No pesky auto renewal or credit card attachments

 

I have no problem turning off auto renewal. Just go to your profile and turn it off. I know it's kind of annoying to have to do that if you get one months at a time, but it's done because they want to keep you.

Also, try clearing your browser history/cache as it can help clear up some problems like this.
