    Dolby x atmos not working


    I have the dolby x atmos bluetooth headset. In order for these to work you first need to download the dolby sound app. Through this app it will ask you to set up your headset. Mine would be through optical audio. When you click this section it will take
    you to your xbox volume and audio output setting and then under headset audio you will switch from whatever default settings to dolby autmos for headphones. Lastly, you will go to your accessories and assign your xbox profile to said headset.

    With this being said here is my issue:

    They’ve worked since I bought to all the way up until 9/25/2020. I’ve been moving my xbox around alot from place to place. There has been no damages or accidental drops to any of the products. However, the xbox no longer registers the optical audio. Or better
    said, it registers but at the same time it does not.

    When I navigate through the dolby app, and change everything to the correct setting it reads “ready to use”. However, when I go to the accesories in settings now, the headset no longer displays.

    When the optical usb audio is plugged in, the headset turns on and the little light on the optical usb turns on. So I know that the xbox registers the usb to some extent when plugged in.

    The actual headset is fine too. When you power it on, the headset will say to you, “power on, headset connected” then your xbox audio will proceed. However, now, when powered on, it says, “power on, headset connected” and NO audio from the xbox proceeds.

    Right now, I am confused on what the actual issue is with them.

    Dolby Atmos on Xbox One X = issue !

    Hi RomiDumitru,

    *maybe* this "problem" is exactly how the Dolby Atmos App on Xbox One X works.

    Dolby Atmos native content? perfect! Dolby Atmos playback.

    No Dolby Atmos? the App upmix current audio track to Dolby Atmos (the headphones features works in this way).

    I don't know if is intentional.

    No dolby atmos when streaming

    I have the problem that Netflix Dolby Atmos is not working with the x box S, if I try to play a series with Dolby Atmos, then Netflix give the text:

    This title can not play try later?

    Configuration is ok at the x box s and all other content without Dolby Atmos will play correct.

    If someone have a solution?

    I have the same problem like you. I have an Xbox One X connected through HDMI cable to an Onkyo amplituner 7.1 which is capable to decode Dolby Atmos & DTS X.

    I have installed Dolby app on my Xbox to get Dolby atmos sound and the result was that I have on all the games no matter if these are with sound in Dolby Atmos or not only in Dolby Atmos.

    Is very strange to get that. I have supposed that when I buy a game with sound in Dolby Digital 5.1 to have Dolby Digital 5.1 and when I buy games in Dolby Atmos to get Dolby Atmos in my amplituner Onkyo.

    The same problem I have with all the movies from Netflix. I installed the Netflix app on my Xbox One X and now all the movies I see have sound in Dolby Atmos, even if in the name of the movie on Netflix it is said the sound is recorded only in Dolby Digital
    5.1.

    What to do in that situation ?......I have tried every settings on my Xbox without any result.......When I put settings on output sound in Xbox everything I played is all in Atmos.

    Like you said: "We don't need everything to be upscaled to Atmos, we just want Atmos to work on stuff that is Atmos as it should!"

    Xbox One X Dolby Atmos not working

    My Xbox One X is connected to my receiver. When I try to setup Atmos in the audio settings Xbox One X says that my receiver, Denon AVR-4300H, does not have Atmos capability. I am only allowed to choose DTS for the bitstream sound output. Atmos works fine
    with my Samsung 4K player so I know it is an Xbox One X issue.

    The Dolby App does not give any error until I try to view the demo videos where it flashes, "you are not viewing this video on Dolby Atmos." It plays the demo video on DTS instead.
    ***UPDATE***

    I finally got Dolby Atmos to work!!! Under "Settings, Display & Sound, Volume, Setup TV & AV Control, Audio" I had to change the default "Stereo" setting to "Surround Sound." The Xbox One X had to reboot to accept/change the setting. Once it rebooted Dolby
    Atmos was working. It is interesting that the main control will be under the volume settings instead of audio output. You would think the system will be smart enough to activate surround sound when you are choosing Dolby Atmos to bitstream.

    Hopefully this "difficult to find" change of setting will work for others who are having Dolby Atmos issues.

    If the game does not support Dolby Atmos, then the audio is normal stereo. Microsoft are working on updating Dolby Atmos, where if the game does not support Dolby, the audio will be converted to simulate Dolby Atmos.
