    Dolby vision not enabling - Delta ring Series X LG CX OLED


    Hi there - I’m in Delta ring with an Xbox Series X and am finding Dolby Vision isn’t switching on at all (based on the TV pop up icons in the top right corner when I launch a game - it keeps just showing HDR).

    I’ve tried a few games (Gears 5, Forza 4) and it keeps just launching in HDR, even though my ‘4K details’ settings say I can do Dolby Vision (except for at 120 Hz 4K Rez). Have also tried switching console refresh rate to only 60 hz and it still only uses HDR for games.

    Any ideas? Running an LG CX OLED, and have the console plugged in with the provided HDMI cable directly into the TV. Dolby vision is turning on for other things (e.g Netflix).

    OLED77CXPUA, XBOX ONE X, and Dolby Vision

    I figured it out just in case if anyone has this issue with any LG CX and maybe GX model. If your Xbox is saying Dolby Vision is not supported on your CX. Go into the settings and Turn off AMD Freesync in the TV settings. This setting comes turned
    on by default and make the XBOX say your TV does not support Dolby Vision.
    I came here looking for an answer to this, but it can’t be to turn off AMD Freesync. Thats a headline feature of using the CX with a XBox One S or X (or the series X coming out).

    I have a XBOX One X connected to an OLED LG C8. If I use the Netflix app on XBOX One X then the LG will display Dolby Vision. So I know that it is passing. But If I use a 4K Bluray that has Dolby Vision, the player will only output HDR。Blu-ray
    playback is already up to date.

    I figured it out just in case if anyone has this issue with any LG CX and maybe GX model. If your Xbox is saying Dolby Vision is not supported on your CX. Go into the settings and Turn off AMD Freesync in the TV settings. This setting comes turned on by
    default and make the XBOX say your TV does not support Dolby Vision.

    Dolby vision is not 4k it is a software enhancement for the HDR aspect so not having it is not a major issue, but if you like to have all the green checks you need to look for high end tv's that support Dolby Vision like LG Oleds and Vizio Oleds
