Dolby Vision from 4K Bluray not being passed, but Dolby vision works with other apps.

I have a XBOX One X connected to an OLED LG C8. If I use the Netflix app on XBOX One X then the LG will display Dolby Vision. So I know that it is passing. But If I use a 4K Bluray that has Dolby Vision, the player will only output HDR, the TV does not
display Dolby Vision. This has happened on Multiple 4k Blu rays.

Any ideas?

This seems to confirm that the bluray app does NOT support dolbyvision

I do know about the gaming part. I was asking the question if the Xbox Series X could have the Dolby Vision added into the BluRay app so, that 4K BluRay movies can enjoy Dolby Vision as well.

YCC was not enabled but, but color was, No updates for blu ray app. I am thinking it is the blu ray app as netflix on xbox outputs Dolby Vision without issue

As gds said, at this time, only Netflix ahs Dolby Vision support enabled, rumor is more support in the way but nothing official yet.

Do you have YCC 4:2:2 enabled in the Xbox display settings?

Also, have you changed the color depth on your Xbox from 24 bit to 32 bit?

Dolby Vision is 12 bit color so you will probably need those two options enabled. The first is to output more bandwidth and the color depth is for 12 bit color.

Also, make sure your Blu Ray app is updated.
