Dolby Vision causes almost every title to stretch off the screen.

While this may not be the correct place to attempt to figure this out, I know tons of people in here are knowledgeable on the subject from already experiencing Dolby Vision through previews and manual updates, so I’m guessing somebody would have an answer for me.

My LG CX just got the newest update to support Dolby Vision @ 120hz, and since then I’ve been noticing more and more games are ‘zoomed in’. I have no other way to describe it, but almost every game is now slightly larger than the screen itself. In most cases this isn’t an issue, as plenty of games have HUD / screen size adjustments to help alleviate anything being cut off. But there are still a few titles where portions of the HUD or screen are almost completely out of view. And I can confirm that no zoom / aspect ratio / screen adjustments on the television have been changed or altered.

My main concern is that something isn’t set up properly, so I’d really just like to narrow down why this is happening or, at the very least, find out that I’m not the only one noticing it.

I was recently having connectivity issues after a preview update, so I removed the preview enrollment and updated the Xbox (happened automatically), so I’m currently running the consumer update with no preview at all, as far as I’m aware.

Again, if there’s a better spot where I could get an answer on this, I’d be happy to ask elsewhere. But, based on what I see in here on a fairly regular basis, over 75% of you know more than I do, so I trust somebody would have an answer or explanation for me.

green flickers when going to dashboard.xbox series x

On your console display settings, is HDR and Dolby Vision enabled?

Most people that get flickers on the screen (both playing or only on the dashboard) with Dolby Vision on is because both HDR and Dolby Vision are enabled at the same time.

Just try to turn HDR off and see if it solves your problem. If it does, unfortunately we will not be able to do much about it. It's a bug reported by some people and the only option would be use HDR or Dolby Vision, not both at the same time :(

What is wrong with my XBSX?

Okay so apparently it’s something with Dolby Vision gaming as it only happens when i start up a game that uses dolby vision. And when I turn dolby vision gaming off every game works fine. I don’t understand what is happening with dolby vison gaming though as I’ve been using it fine until i just got done playing BF2042.

Xbox Series X - Screen Glitch/Distortion only during Game loading/static screens (not on any other app)

I had the exact same problem which didn't start until today, and I use my Xbox Series X every day..

Starting today, running any game would show me a screen like the op showed.

I turned off Dolby Vision on my LG 55C2 like Jesse Mass suggested (THANK YOU!) and that completely fixed the problem.

    With regards to Dolby Vision...

So it's either a TV update that went through (current software version 03.33.65) and changed something (but I didn't notice a recent update), or the Xbox changed something (though the last Xbox update was over a month ago).

So I turned off Dolby Vision in the Xbox's video settings and now everything works fine (except for no Dolby Vision).

Xbox Series X Allow Dolby Vision/Dolby for Gaming and Allow Auto Low Latency Mode

Another Nuance came up. Now when streaming with dolby vision Off. Wnen I stream Dolby Content with Netflix through XBOX, within the XBOX settings upon launch of Netflix Dolby vision turns off ALLM in my XBOX and plays Dolby regardless of setting in the XBOX. And launching a game there after it does not turn off dolby vision for gaming or allow dolby vision, nor does it turn back on ALLM. I wanted to try to avoid changing the 4K options everytime I want to do something else.
