Dolby Digital out of Optical?

When is this issue going to be reolved. I have a great pair of Tritton AX Pros that can only be used in Stereo until they fix ths issue. Is Microsoft hiding a bigger inherent issue in the capability of the XBOX One to output digital audio through the optical
connection?

i beleive Microsoft ist working on this issue, but no one can tell you at the moment, when it will be solved.

A workaround i used is, to use the opt. out connection from the TV.



The x1 is sending the signals via HDMI to the TV.

For this you need an optical out on your TV and turn the TV settings on your x1 from HDMI (auto) to HDMI (1080p).

After changing this setting you can use HDMI for sound too.

 

Most TVs do not convert the signal to Dolby digital so that workaround won't work for most.

 

You're right, it depends on the used TV if this Workaround works.

I have a Samsung TV and can use the Opt-Out of the TV

 

I wouldn't mind using the TV's optical out, if it didn't mean having to drop a wire from my mounted TV behind the wall (or worse, exposed) to the XBOX One. LoL.

 

I'm returning my Xbox One, this is ridiculous. My 4 year old BlueRay player support Dolby from Optical, my 5 yr old Cable box support dolby in Optical and my next gen console don't.

My samsung TV refuses to convert the HDMi signal to Dolby via Optical Out, my receiver does not support audio over HDMI. Essentially I need to buy a new HTIB for $1000 to support the "next gen" Xbox One.

Not happening, bye bye XBox One
