  1. Dolby Digital Audio Lag

    Hey guys,

I just started to watch TV shows and movies through the Xbox One (through the Amazon Prime app) and noticed with the headphones I use, there's a slight audio delay which is pretty apparent through the lip sync.

Just to explain my setup, I have an HDMI cable for video and an optical out connected to my wireless Astro A50 (Gen2) Xbox One headset. This connects through an amp. I tested this headset on 2 other devices that use optical out and neither had an issue.

When I set the bitstream to stereo uncompressed, there is no lag but the sound is very dull and not even worth using a dolby compatible headset. Based on other searches, I'm not the only one to have similar issues like this.

Has anyone seen any solutions out there or has there been any updates on this issue?

    Thanks!

    :)

Audio is delayed when using DTS over optical.

Considering I still cannot (realistically) use my 7.1 headset (Elite 800X -- ironically labelled as "DTS headphone", but only supports the Dolby Digital setting ... with massive -- 500ms or more -- delay) in any mode aside from Stereo only ... I'd say the
patches that have come out in the year and a half since your latest post have not addressed the issue.

  3. Fix Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio Lag

When is Microsoft going to fix the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio lag from the Xbox One S? If I select Bitstream/Dolby Digital while watching a Blu-Ray the sound is AMAZING but there's a noticeable issue with audio lag. The words are behind what's happening on
the screen and it's impossible to sync.

The only way to fix this is to select 5.1 Uncompressed but then you only get Stereo sound with no 5.1 (which sucks since I invested in surround sound).

It looks like this issue has been brought up before and it plagues the Xbox One S system - but there hasn't been a fix yet.

Any advice on how to fix?

    Dolby Digital Audio Lag

I'm having the same issue with my TB Stealth 500X's. I thought it was my headset until I tried a pair of Astro A50's to compare and got the same issue. I believe it's an Xbox problem and not a problem with the headsets. The Xbox One has audio sync issues
early on and it seems that the November update brought this issue back. Hopefully Microsoft looks into it.

    No audio via optical output

That would be great if that were an option, but it isn't. The only audio options are to set it to Digital Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, or Dolby Digital 5.1 w/ WMA; there are no options that I could find to force the audio to optical. If there is, maybe you
could point me to where that option lives?

    Audio output problem

Ok so you're getting audio from other sources on your TV? Try resetting your audio settings -

Go to Settings and select System.

Select Console Settings, and then select Audio.

Select Digital Output, and then select the digital output used by your audio system:

    Digital Stereo

    Dolby Digital 5.1

Dolby Digital with WMA Pro: This setting enables WMA Pro pass-through if your receiver supports the WMA Pro format.

If not, try a different HDMI port

When is 5.1 surround coming to optical for headsets 2018?

Dolby Digital via Optical has been there for months. Under Settings, Display & Sound, set Optical Audio to Bitstream out and then set the Bitstream format to Dolby Digital.
