Dolby Atmos on XBOX ONE X connected to DENON X3600H

-I’m not getting Dolby Atmos on games that has Atmos tracks AND the Dolby Atmos software on my XBOX ONE X...but 4K blu-ray disks with Atmos track plays in Atmos with no problems on my XBOX ONE X.

-I called XBOX support, but they couldn’t help.

-I went back-and-forth via email with Dolby, they couldn’t help.

-I called DENON they count help.... they all blamed each other!

-All my setting on XBOX are correct.

-I have the Dolby app. (Uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times.)

-Atmos also works fine on my APPLE TV 4K and OPPO 203 when played using my Denon X3600H....but not my XBOX.

Please help!

I've spoken to Dolby Laboratories. And they have confirmed that Xbox have updated the way the xbox outputs dolby atmos. Apparently xbox and dolby are working on a fix. And multi in is apparently still atmos. But a simpler form of it. I have a denon avr-x3600h
7.4.2 set up. And can defo hear the helicopter above in Cod MW

I'm glad I found this thread as I thought I was going crazy!

Bought an xbox one s to run netflix dolby atmos titles as my roku stick doesn't play atmos titles (another beef I have!)

I'm finding the same problems as the OP running through my denon x3600h.

XBOX, DENON or DOLBY final fixed the Atmos issue....well sort of.

I started Call of Duty normally like I do, and Atmos showed up of my DENON X3600H...BUT!!! The next day, I started Call of Duty, it was back to Multi channel.

So I when into the Dolby app (like I did multiple times trying to fix the issue), went to setup for “Home Theater”, and as soon as I clicked on it, the incoming sound source switched to Atmos automatically.

So unfortunately, every time I turn on my Xbox I have to do that... but at least Atmos work now, when it didn’t before! And it sounds WAY better!

After lots of googling I believe I found a user discussion on the highly technical AVForums.

The proof of their discussion was that the older AVRX3600H firmware actually worked fine with Xbox One X before the Denon Update.

So either Microsoft has to update their Atmos or Denon needs to maintain backwards compatibility.
