Dolby Atmos for Kodi

    Dolby Atmos for Kodi


    I have installed Kodi on my Xbox One and have the Dolby Atmos app installed. My Xbox is connected to my AV receiver and surround sound system. Everything I play from Kodi just gets played as Stereo. I have switched on passthrough but that makes no difference. Will Dolby Atmos not work for apps like Kodi?

    Hi RomiDumitru,

    *maybe* this "problem" is exactly how the Dolby Atmos App on Xbox One X works.

    Dolby Atmos native content? perfect! Dolby Atmos playback.

    No Dolby Atmos? the App upmix current audio track to Dolby Atmos (the headphones features works in this way).

    I don't know if is intentional.

    If the game does not support Dolby Atmos, then the audio is normal stereo. Microsoft are working on updating Dolby Atmos, where if the game does not support Dolby, the audio will be converted to simulate Dolby Atmos.

    Dolby Atmos settings on the Xbox can be tricky. The game/audio source needs to support it. The Xbox needs to be able to detect the Dolby Atmos device through HDMI.

    Please review the steps and troubleshooting and eventual solution in this article

    - The apps are designed by their own developer, not by Xbox. If that developer wants to add Atmos support then that developer will need to change their app for the Xbox One accordingly

    My lg Dolby atmos sound system shows everything in Dolby atmos, I know there has been a issues with the app.

    But I agree not every game supports Dolby atmos đź‘Ť
