    Dolby Atmos broke again after Jan 25 update!!


    On Jan 25, 2018, my Xbox One X did and automatic update. One day later, Dolby Atmos stopped working. If my X1X audio settings are set to Atmos for Home Theater, there is no sound at all from menus, games, or any type of video disc. In order to receive
    sound, I must change the settings to stereo uncompressed. I have reinstalled the Atmos app several times, I have updated the firmware for my Samsung K850 soundbar, I have soft reset, hard reset, and done a complete console reset of the X1X. Nothing has fixed
    this problem!! Can anyone provide any answers as to why this is happening, are there any fixes out there? This problem was fixed back in November with an update, but after the update on the 25th, its worse!! Before, we just couldn't get Atmos to work, now
    there is no sound at all without downgrading to stereo!! This is not acceptable.

    Xbox will only output sound in Dolby Atmos

    Since the April Xbox One update, my Xbox will now only output sound in Dolby Atmos mode, even when the content I am watching does not support Dolby Atmos. Before the update, there would only be Dolby Atmos sound when the show or movie I was watching supported
    Dolby Atmos. This isn't all that bad, except with Dolby Atmos I am unable to change the sound mode that my soundbar outputs. For example, when I am watching sports, I can't change the sound to sports mode because it thinks my cable service is somehow providing
    Dolby Atmos sound.

    Dolby atmos issues

    Yes its now broken with the update, for watching netflix with a real atmos setup 5.1.2.

    The receiver thinks its atmos but its a 5.1 or even a 2.0 stream hidden in a atmos package.

    blu ray works fine atmos is atmos and 5.1 is upscaled by the receiver to dolby surround with use or al your atmos speakers so it must be.

    Dolby Atmos for Headphones question

    If the game does not support Dolby Atmos, then the audio is normal stereo. Microsoft are working on updating Dolby Atmos, where if the game does not support Dolby, the audio will be converted to simulate Dolby Atmos.

    Same here, everytime I select Dolby Atmos from the dropdown menu in the settings it tells me to download Dolby Atmos... eventhough I access the settings via the Atmos App.

    Update: I restarted my console and went through the setup again and it worked. Logged on just now and the headset format is still set to Dolby Atmos for Headphones. Fingers crossed...

    At last its fixed!! Finally got atmos coming through the Amp after 5 months!! Must have been an update last night!! Denon 3600h. 11.2 atmos!!!
    But Atmos has always been working between Xbox and AVR, it's just it doesn't show on the screen of the AVR that the input signal is Atmos, based on what Dolby has said, it is cosmetic. And we managed to confirm that.

    I had an update from xbox today as part of the insider preview and I reinstalled the dolby app after it. Dolby atmos now seems to be finally working correctly after nearly a year 🥳🥳my x2600h is now displaying atmos and shows it is receiving atmos instead

    Hello,

    I have an Xbox One X and a Samsung Q90R Dolby Atmos Sound Bar and rear speakers. I have had this connected to the Xbox One for about 6 months and has worked perfectly the whole time. Recently the Dolby Atmos while using the Xbox has been resetting and turning
    off. When I go into the Dolby Atmos app everything is reset and logging in like I have never used it before and have to activate Atmos again via the app. All the sound settings in the Xbox area haven't been changed at all. I turn on the Atmos again in the
    app and it all turns on and works fine. Then randomly after turning off the Xbox and back on again, Atmos is off. I open the app again and it loads as if I am going in the first time through a setup and Atmos home theatre in the app is off again. I can set
    it up again but then goes off after a restart. I don't know if this has happened after a new Dolby app update or something. This app looks newer as they have removed some demos and the setup area is different than I recall.

    Is there a work around or fix for this or is anyone else having this issue?

    Oh that's a great news, I haven't got the update yet, I was talking to Dolby today they were talking about an update which was released this week, but as I never got it I told them my console was up to date! I guess I will be getting it soon then!
