  1. [Dolby Atmos and LG CX models] Audio possible issue between XBOX and LG CX

    Hello everyone,

I've a XBOX Series X connected to a LG OLED CX model.

I've started to notice some crackling noises in some games (for instance on GTA 5 whenever I press the menu button to check the map, the sound is not clean and sometimes has some noise attached to it. Feels like distorted until some point). Also, navigating through the Dashboard sometimes makes a crackling noise (like when going in or out some menus, like XBOX Settings).

The biggest manifestation of a possible software issue involving Dolby Atmos is when rebooting the console (there are people complaining of it on when it starts from a normal boot or cold boot). The sound of the boot-up animation stutters (comes in waves, like: sound, no sound, sound, no sound)

I've tried to disable Dolby Atmos in the console and selected Stereo Uncompressed and reboot, however, that left me without any Audio at all coming from my TV speakers. (Even on boot-up, or in Dashboard menu, or in games) Whenever I'm able to have sound in this mode (Stereo Uncompressed), I can hear some skips in audio when jumping between tiles in the Dashboard. (And in GTA 5 for instance the Audio that I hear has some gaps too: sound, no sound, sound, no sound)

I doubt that this is a Hardware issue, since on an older television, I can hear perfectly fine with Stereo Uncompressed selected.

There is a subreddit post with a video that shows exactly the issue about the boot-up sound: /r/XboxSeriesX/comments/jttbwc/xbox_series_x_startup_issue_audio_stutter_anyone/ (I hope you can access it)

Is this happening to you as well? Did you notice any misbehaviour involving Dolby Atmos, XBOX Series X and LG CX TV models?

    Thank you!

Another XSX Dolby Atmos sound delay post. . .

Mine works fine with LG CX and JBL 9.1 soundbar Dolby atmos passthrough 😅🤷‍♂️ No delays or issues.

Atmos Delay fix (worked for me, at least) and audio detection issues

Any new update on this situation. I have an LG CX hooked up to a Samsung Q90r soundbar. If the Xbox is set to Dolby Atmos there is a noticeable delay. Unfortunately on the LG OLED and the soundbar you can not reduce the audio delay so you can only further increase it. However if I choose 7.1 uncompressed I have no issues.

I figured it out just in case if anyone has this issue with any LG CX and maybe GX model. If your Xbox is saying Dolby Vision is not supported on your CX. Go into the settings and Turn off AMD Freesync in the TV settings. This setting comes turned on by
default and make the XBOX say your TV does not support Dolby Vision.

Dolby Atmos delay on Xbox Series X

Have found that if I turn off Dolby atmos through the tv settings it helps with the delay. Digital sound out on auto and Dolby atmos setting off on tv only. My current set up is LG CX with Samsung Q850A Soundbar. Hope this helps.

I came here looking for an answer to this, but it can’t be to turn off AMD Freesync. Thats a headline feature of using the CX with a XBox One S or X (or the series X coming out).
