DOLBY ATMOS and DOLBY VISION BROKEN on XBOX ONE X

I am having difficulty getting Dolby ATOMS to work properly. The Xbox One X does pick up ATMOS from 4k UHD discs that support it, but apps like Netflix fail to properly stream ATMOS according to my receiver which states MULTI-IN. The ATMOS logo does not
light up on the receiver display. It seems like it is likely a combo NETFLIX and XBOX problem and the engineers need to fix it. I tried deleting the ATMOS app and reinstalling it. Turning my sound settings off and turning them back in to no avail. I just
purchased a DENON x3600 receiver for ATMOS and am very frustrated. What makes the situation for me easier, is my APPLE TV 4K works with my receiver correctly. It seems to pull ATMOS from streaming VUDU, NETFLIX, DISNEY+ correctly.

On another note, I've noticed DOLBY VISION seems to always be on for NETFLIX despite some content not being DOLBY VISION. My Apple TV 4K only pulls dolby vision for content that has it. Yet another problem with the Xbox One X. I love my Xbox, but don't
understand why it can stream media correctly for audio or dolby vision. If anyone has a fix, I would greatly appreciate it! It looks like people have being having difficulties with all this for some time. I'm not even sure how to approach this. I could
try contacting DENON, but it really does seem like an XBOX vs application problem. I also tried deleted the NETFLIX app and reinstalling it, but no change.

*maybe* this "problem" is exactly how the Dolby Atmos App on Xbox One X works.

Dolby Atmos native content? perfect! Dolby Atmos playback.

No Dolby Atmos? the App upmix current audio track to Dolby Atmos (the headphones features works in this way).

I don't know if is intentional.

I am able to get Atmos on Netflix with my denon x4400 with the audio settings bitstream out and dolby digital for home theater selected. It makes you download the dolby app to change that setting.

yeah thats the settings I use as well. Only problem I've had is it changing on me and having to change it back.

I have my Xbox One X settings to bitstream with optical off. Installed the Dolby Access App and changed the setting to ATMOS. What is odd is I can see the ATMOS logo switch on briefly at times, but then it switches to MULTI IN on the DENON display. My
Xbox does seem to play ATMOS from discs as this appears correctly on my receiver display. It just doesn't work with streaming content. My Apple TV 4k has no issues.

Very popular receiver, have one too. No atmos for game support and Arcing atmos back introduces too much latency.

Apparently the issue rests with microsoft as Denon has updated the firmware to anticipate the new, updated version of Dolby atmos home cinema for games or “low latency atmos” so it’s called. The One X supports the regular cinema profile.

Dolby Vision and Atmos are now fairly fragmented formats, makes me wonder if Microsoft should ditch them and go DTS:X moving forward.

First: Thanks for the info! You gave me more info than DENON, XBOX/Microsoft, and Dolby combined!

Secondly: Where did you find that info? As DENON, XBOX/Microsoft, and Dolby seem not to know!

If Microsoft goes with DTS:X, that fine, as long as they keep Dolby Vision. Our DENON’s can handle it! :^)
