Dolby Access Channel Upmixer

Dumb question, but you do have the channel upmixer enabled under the home theater section of the Dolby Access app, right.

Most any receiver will have a mode to convert mono to 2-channel mono. There is no information in the signal to extrapolate anything beyond playing the same thing on more speakers.

Nope, Dolby access channel upmixer is not compatible with mono audio

I had an issue 2 days ago with the "channel upmixer" setting in the Dolby App where it wasn't working. Uninstalled Dolby atmos, reboot console. Reinstall Dolby, all working.

Worth a try if you haven't already tried that. #longshot

You can leave the setting ON. If you leave it ON this is what the feature does:

"this upmixer was made to be compatible with traditional channel-based and Dolby speaker systems. What the Dolby upmixer does is expands the audio of channel-based content (includes Native Streaming, 5.1, and 7.1 content) for playback through a Dolby Atmos system. This upmixer allows for a more spacious audio ambiance. Dolby states, “This new technology will process and upmix channel-based content to as many as 17 speaker locations at listener level and to 10 Dolby Atmos-enabled or overhead speakers.”"
