Doesn't do anything...

Hey guys I finally paid off my xbox 1 halo 5 edition, bought a monitor with hdmi ports, and plugged in my xbox. I wait for stuff to happen...

At this point different things happen (supposing it shows the loading screen)

1. It goes to a black screen

a. Stays black

b. A message pops up saying something stupid like, "Home screen is taking a while to load." No flipping duh! Why the heck does it even need to take a while to load

2. It goes to the home screen (after the 50th attempt)

a. It is very sluggish, and if I attempt to do something on it, I get a message saying it's unresponsive. For crying out loud, it's the flipping home screen on a new Xbox, I haven't had a chance to use. It shouldn't be non responsive!!!

b. It allows me to load up a game after another 50 attempts WHY!!!!!

Pease note, the only thing I've done on it is the initial setup

Doesn't let me do anything

when I log in it acts as if I have live and everything is OK but when I got party it says "your privacy settings prevent chat with some people” but I can hear them just can’t talk. Next when I send a message it says due to you past behavior you can’t do
this. Last thing I’ve noticed whenever I open a game it says find something else to do due to you last behavior. Also I bought live and it changed nothing

Power cycle the console. Then try re syncing your controller.

Forgot to mention that it takes bout 5 min to shutdown....

A Hard boot and Shutdown of the Xbox One can take a while, This explains the slow boot and shutdown.

In regards to the sluggishness etc. Could this be caused by your monitor not being powerful enough for your X-Box One Console? I have had issues with my old monitor in the past when trying to use an old/less powerful monitor with a newer/more powerful Desktop
PC, This could be a similar issue?

Maybe try your Xbox on another TV and see if the issue is the same?

Open the Settings app it is the gear in the start menu.

Open Accounts

Click Sign-in Options

Scroll down to Privacy

Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."

Restart your PC!

,if not you can't play until.Public release

You can preinstall the multiplayer part and campaign if you have gamepass but you can't do anything with it unless you are in halo flights

Hi CobaltTS, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

if you have an external hdd connected, remove it to see if wifi returns, if so then the hdd is taking to much power from the usb bus.

I'm sorry to hear that. Here are the steps that you can try for your concern.

Solution 1. Power cycle your console

Please Turn off console > (press and hold power button for 10 seconds) unplug everything from the console > wait for 2 minutes and plug everything back > Turn On the console.

Solution 2. Try to do a soft factory reset without removing any games and apps.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Settings > System > Console info > reset then keep my games and apps.

NOTE: This will delete the profiles on your account, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.
