Does you Xbox series X get warm on the side when in stand-by?

Mine is in instant on mode and is slightly warm on the sides also. I don't see any issue as my Directv 4k mini genie and even Roku Ultra also are warm while not in use but in standby.

If you don't have any problems with your Series X I wouldn't worry about it.

Just as a point of reference the Directv mini genie runs about 138F while in use and the Roku Ultra shows it is an incredible 172F most of the time. I have had both for a few years and no issues at all.

Yeah sure if its slightly warm but it felt more then that. Just checked and now it is not that bad actually.

Maybe it was doing some update at the time. And the fan was not spinning so it got me worried.

O well lets see how it goes after a few months. ITs just a baby now

If you xbox is overheating and shutting down, get it serviced.

I have great ventilation and my X gets warm also when playing newer 4k games.

I can hear the fans getting faster and slower. The heat is never to the point of alarming.

I would recommend not putting it in an enclosed space, like a tv stand behind class or even one with enclosed backs and side shelves.

Leave plenty of room around the sides and especially in the back so the hot air can escape.

While it's true that the Series X can get rather warm in operation, it should not be loud. If it's loud, it's either been placed in a location where there isn't enough airflow or it's faulty. You'd be surprised how many users put their console inside enclosed cabinets or entertainment units and expect everything to be fine.

I have a Series X and I've played it for 3 to 4 hours on some weekends. It get's warm and I can feel this heat when I place my hand on top of the console, but it isn't at all loud, my Series X is really quite and remains quite during heavy usage. Mine is only slightly warm when on instant on.

Are you referring to the Expansion card for 1TB extra storage? If you are then yes, this can get very warm to the touch. Totally normal and within the design of the expansion card.

I thought I was doing something wrong, that's why the xbox series X pad adapter is warm when playing.

Now I know that it works like laptops, which makes a demanding game the more warm.
