Does Xbox X Series supports BDXL reading?

Hi,

I wanted to watch a movie from a Blu-ray disc. It is a copy I made on a BDXL 100 GB Verbatim disc but Xbox can't read it. Blu-ray player app gives a message that disc can't be read.

At the same time I don't have any problems reading it on a PC drive. What is the problem then?

Hello LM, unfortunately Blue-Ray drive does not support BDXL.

As mentioned it wouldn't matter the cppy protection would prevent it from.playing it on any HD tv

Thank you very much for reply. This means that Blu-ray drive in this console is useless for me.

How is it even possible that new generation has problems like that when Blu-ray XL are known and used for many years now? It would be OK on Xbox One, but Series X? I can't understand it.

Well you do know that copies don't play on legal players right ?

As soon as you break the bdcp handshake to copy a movie you lose the legal rights

And are limited to a computer with software that bypasses the bdcp security handshake

Now if it's your personal home movies that's different and wouldn't have the bdcp handshake

All retail movies have copyright protection and validated by the HDMI cables and the bdcp

You can't get around it because it's built into.tvs and bluray players you can thank.sony for.that ine
