Does xbox series x really not have optical port and hdmi out?

Yes mate the Xbox Series X will have an optical out port, 2 HDMI ports, 2 USB-C port, Ethernet

you get better audio through hdmi than optical. they arent going to go put a port on it for the few that use it for gaming headsets.

well the xbox series x has one HDMI port, so you would need to either upgrade your audio kit, connect tv via optical if supported or by a hdmi to hdmi/optical splitter which would then not pass through any hdmi 2.1 features.

Hi, I'm taking my last post back here. It really seems to be the case that there will be no optical port anymore. so everything just via HDMI?

There is officially no optical port on the Series X, so I'd assume sound and video will be carried through the HDMI port.



Aside from that, they have already talked about having a USB solution for headsets.

unfortunately the series x doesnt have an optical audio out port so that is not an option - and that also doesnt solve the issue which is specific to dolby atmos.

So according to the manual for the panasonic soundbar i need to run two hdmi cables from the xbox - one to the tv for dolby vision/ALLM and then a second one to the soundbar for the sound

Obviously theres only one HDMI out socket on the series x so i assume this is not possible?
