Does xbox one work on smaller tv?

My son wants to buy an XBox One which will empty his bank acct. I've offered to buy the HD TV required, but can only afford a 23" one. A Harvey Norman salesman said the games won't fit on the small screen. I understand that the display ratio is important,
but surely even a 23" screen is ok as long as it's set at 720p or 1080p. Is anyone using a 23" TV with their XBOX one?

WD- 40 very small amount down the trigger and I mean one small spray then wipe of the remainder. This might void your controller warranty though but it will and does work

why not contact razor support, the changes of someone having one is slim, since the number of posters is tiny.

 

As long as the HD TV or monitor has HDMI in, the size of the screen does not matter one bit. As well as my 32" I've used mine on a 21".

 

My partner games on her Xbox one with a 22" LED TV and the screen ratio is fine, so there shouldn't be any problems with a 23" screen

 

I think that salesman is just trying to get you to fork out more cash for a bigger to.

 

Yeah I game on a 24 inch monitor. To me, going smallish, is the best way to play.

 

Sounds like he was just trying to scam you into spending more money. Considering I play Final Fantasy XIV on a laptop I think you will be ok with the size you were originally intending on getting.

 

As long as the display supports a minimum of 720p over HDMI, it should be fine.

My friend has a 32 inch 720p HDTV (old, I know) and it has HDMI ports on the back so resonating what others have said...

Depending on whether or not you celebrate the holidays, you might consider waiting until black Friday deals are advertised. There's always some kind of deal on TVs if you're willing to wait. Otherwise I agree with what most are saying. The only issue screen
size will make is for games that have small text being harder to see.

 

There are plenty of 32" 1080p TVS new for £150 at the moment, shop around sainsbury had some a week or so ago, aldi also had some.

My friend gave me his old 23 inch 720p HDTV and I think that it has 2 HDMI ports, it worked well with my Xbox 360 and it would definitely work well with an Xbox One.

The games wont fit on a small screen... you should have laughed in his face. He must have thought you a right fool. You just need HDMI capabilities. Lots of people buy modestly priced gaming monitors as opposed to televisions.
