    Does xbox one warranty cover lightning strikes


    Lightning struck the transformer by my house last week and now my xbox one wont work. It was on a surge protector but the xbox one does not have a ground wire and if the power supply had a ground wire it wouldnt be an issue, any expincive electronic should
    be grounded. its a huge disign flaw

    Hey, does anybody know if the Xbox warranty does cover being struck by lightning? I just know that a lot of warranties are void if affect by "an act of god." Serious question here

    OBTW, lightning strikes on the phone or cable line can damage modems, routers, gateways and computers as well as the Xbox. Your homeowners policy may cover such damage.

    Hi

    The warranty of the Xbox One would not cover things like lightening strikes. In addition to this all Xbox One consoles including the Xbox One S have built in surge protectors and it is recommended connecting the console directly to a wall outlet.

    If you have not already done so please unplug the console from the wall outlet for 5 minutes to allow the consoles surge protector to reset then try plugging everything back in and see if it will power up.

    So i did what you said and it still doesnt work. So you daid they have a surge protector already installed? And it failed in mine and they wount fix there faulty product?

    Then yes it would be not in warranty repair

    A surge is an act of god clause of the warranty similar to spilling water and lightning strikes etc because it causes physical damage which cannot be repaired

    Not sure why they asked you to send pictures unless you were claiming fire damage

    Basically ita covered by house insurance don't do it unless you have other things because the 500 bucks plus deductible won't cover it
