    Does Xbox One support system link when playing supported Xbox 360 games?


    Title pretty much says it all, but I was considering trading in my 360 if this was possible, especially if you can system link with 360 consoles.

    What happens to XB1 Backwards Compatibility after Dec 2016 when Xbox Live support for 360 ceases?

    xbox 360 will stop being supported in 2017? Where the link?

    I like the following scenario:

    To be able to play some Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One console via Emulation. However there will/could be some drawbacks. For example, Game saves from an Xbox 360 console cannot be transferred to an Xbox One console unless that 360 game's saves are available
    in the cloud. Xbox Live functionality for some games on Xbox 360 games will be discontinued. You can, however, play system link between Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. Lastly, not all games will be supported.

    From what I have read the answer is yes. However, all the consoles still have to be connected to Xbox live even though the game will be hosted locally.

    In theory you can connect a Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Xbox 360 consoles locally. However, the game you intend to play has to support local link play.

    However, for Xbox One games, I know of no game that supports local link play.

    On the Xbox 360, there are several games that allow local network play, and if the Xbox 360 game is backwards compatible, you can also play that Xbox 360 version of the game on your Xbox One.

    However, be aware that you can NOT play the Xbox One version of a game with the Xbox 360 Version of the game. So for example, you can NOT play FIFA 14 on the Xbox One together with a person playing FIFA 14 on the Xbox 360.

    You can however play Halo 3 as a backwards compatible Xbox 360 title on the Xbox One together with someone on a Xbox 360.
