    Does xbox one s allow you to play xbox 360 games online multiplayer


    Does anybody know whether the new xbox one s, that allows for the play of xbox 360 games allows you to also play those games online with friends? I assume, you cant still play with someone who has only an xbox 360?

    If your friend has that same xbox 360 game on his xbox one, can you play online together? Or do you both need to have xbox s?

    Not a gamer here, thinking of getting my son a new console, and i'm kind clueless. haha

    I cannot play online multiplayer even though I suscribed for a xbox gold one-month trial???

    I recently subscribed for an one month Xbox Live Gold trial. The subscription was successful and when I check my subscriptions on settings on my Xbox one; the membership does show up. However, when I try playing online multiplayer on games such as Madden
    NFL 16, it does not allow me to play while displaying the following message - "An Xbox Live Membership limitation does not allow you to access this feature."

    Please help me, my Xbox 360 is displaying this message when I try to play multiplayer:

    Multiplayer not allowed

    Failed to join the game as one or more players are not allowed to play multiplayer games on xbox live.

    I have xbox live and my settings allow me to play multiplayer.

    Please help me.

    If it's a backwards compatible game then yes. If it's a game that's available on both platforms, but not backwards compatible, then they are seen as separate versions so you both would need to be playing the same version.

    As an owner of an xbox one s I do play xbox 360 games with backwards compatibility. The simplest way to explain how it does this is this: the xbox one essentially opens up the xbox 360 software to be able to play the games that are backwards compatible.
    This means that you can play with people that are playing on xbox 360 using an xbox one or one s. For a list of backwards compatible games click Available games

You will continue to see Xbox Live Gold on your Xbox 360 consoles, and any new Game Pass Core purchases online will appear and function under Xbox Live Gold on Xbox 360 consoles. Online console multiplayer benefits will be supported on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 consoles.

    Access to the Game Pass Core catalogue is available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. Multiplayer games not in the Game Pass Core catalogue are sold separately, and access to multiplayer free-to-play games is open to every Xbox player. The Game Pass Core catalogue is not available on Xbox 360 consoles.

    Your Xbox 360 can still connect to Xbox Live and play online games that maintain their servers, but the Xbox 360 store and marketplace are no longer supported.

    you can play multiplayer, but with only other xbox 360 edition users. the account would have to have online multiplayer allowed.

    Do you mean an Xbox One S or an Xbox Series S? The game is not available for the One.

    The game plays the same with or without Game Pass. You would just need Gold if you wanted to play online multiplayer.
