Does xbox one require internet connection??

I don't want to connect it to the internet, Im not an avid gamer or tech person, all i want is to set it up so i can play the new halo games (and not even the multi player or online stuff, just the regular part of the game as in level 1 then level 2 then
level 3 and so on, lol like i said im not an avid gamer). do i have to connect it to the internet if this is all i want to use it for? if yes, then i won't buy it.

So um... that definitely seems to me like they just said it doesn't require an internet connection... but it does...

Looking forward to some more clarification on this, but it's not looking so good...

i dont want to use this 'Live' thing either, dont even know what it is. like i said in the origional post is all i want it for...

you need to be connected to the net for the 1st initial console update. after that if you choose you can set console to stay offline. so after update no you dont need the internet
