Does TV size affect font size?

Hey guys, Happy 4th of July.

I just bought the Xbox One and was really disappointed by how small the font size is, and how it can't be changed permanently. The magnifier is a lame option as you have to go in and out of it constantly to read and then make selections... I've contacted
tech support twice and they have not been helpful. I also posted a question about it a few days ago and it was confirmed that nothing can be done.. .BUT.. I have another idea. One I'm not happy with, but I need to know if it works.

My current HDTV is 37 inches, and positioned roughly 12 feet away from my recliner and couch. This is where I want to play games from. It worked fine on 360.

My eyes are 48 years old. If I buy a 48 inch 4K TV which Walmart has on sale today, will that increase the size of the font large enough for me to read comfortably from 12 feet.

Obviously, you can say for certain... but will the extra 10 inches and upgrade in technology likely product a sufficient increase in font size?

Small font size for loot pick ups

Does the font size for loot pick ups seem small to anyone else? 50" TV so that's not the issue and there's no problem with other games I've been playing.

To read the item names I have to get within about 4 feet of the TV.

I've looked and can't find a way to increase the size of the boxes or the fonts.

Xbox 360 pop-up menu on Xbox one?

I refuse to justify "Font Size" as an issue. This may be with your Tv not your console.

 

Font size will adjust to your TV size but the font will be the same try these steps

Settings - Display & Sound - Video Output - Calibrate HDTV

To calibrate your TV do use your remote hope this helps

Hey there again Raine London i would like to add we are volunteers who know a lot about technology please don't think of us as tech support thanks.

And i did say the same thing as xX Yggdrasil Xx here i recommended the calibrate HDTV option. Right now are you currently using the 4k tv? Or is it a different one?

another option is High contrast go to Settings - Ease of access - High contrast - On that some times helps and makes stuff on the screen easier to see.

 

Hello Helpers. Yes, I tried both options and neither helped so I purchased a new TV yesterday during Walmart's 4th of July sale. The older one was not 4k, it was about 5-7 years old, Vizio 37 inch HDTV.

The new one will be a Samsung 48 inch 4K UHD Smart TV. It's last year's model UN6400 (somthing like FZST?) It arrives Thursday. Hopefully the 11 extra inches will increase the size of the font just large enough to be able to read it from my chair. I did
some googling as well and they say that to find the perfect size TV you have to measure the distance from your seating to the TV, in inches and divide that by 3 to get the minimum size TV you need to fully appreciate all that HD has to offer (in my case it
turned out to be 48 inch screen!!), and take the same original number and divide by 1.5 to find the maximum screen size. If it's too big you'll not be able to see everything I guess.

So, at least I learned a few things! Thanks for your help guys. I'll mark them both as yes, even though they didn't resolve my issue specifically.

 

All the options we suggest are mainly for the console since everyone here doesn't know all settings every Tv has by heart. good question though.

If you follow xX Yggdrasils Xx post to calibrate the HDTV that helps you out a lot + my post regarding high contrast improves legibility hope that helps.
