Does this mean I own the game via Games with Gold or not?

Before Installation: What does this actually mean? When game is not installed, there is no option to "GET" the game like other GamesWithGold. It says "You have a trial for this game.". I do have Battlefield 1 in my games list, which is similar to "Gears
of War 4" (in my library, says I own trial, is in my games list and definitely I dont own Gears of War 4 or Game Pass). After Installation: I installed game, can confirm that I can play full game. After installation it says “This product is installed. You
can play this game or buy it to own.”. For previous GwG titles I have installed it says "This product is installed. With Xbox Live Gold, play this game, or buy it to own.". Under overflow menu, there are 2 option Buy to own & Redeem a code. The main button
near overflow button says “Get”. When I first clicked it, it installed game but stayed as “Get”. For other GwG title this button just say “Buy to own” and overflow menu only have Redeem code. No matter how many time I press Get it stays as Get. Video showing

How can I claim Games wtih Gold games I already downloaded via Game pass?

I already installed Metal Gear Solid 5 via Game Pass.

It is currently only "installed", not "owned".

If I want to "own" it, via Games with Gold, I have to pay $19.99.

I can get other games via Games with Gold without any problems, as long as I had not already downloaded them via Game Pass.

This may have also happened when I "claimed" Superhot when it was in Games with Gold.

I still have Superhot via Games with Gold, but I fear that when Superhot is no longer in Game Pass, I will no longer have access to it?

I deleted Superhot and re-downloaded it via Games with Gold at the time, but it is only "installed" and not "owned".

I do not want to do that again for Metal Gear Solid 5 if it will not fix the issue.

I hope downloading a game via Games Pass does not mean I can never own it if offered via "Games with Gold".

My console is in Preview Beta -- I do not know if that is part of the problem or not.

Says I don't own it right after I download from Games With Gold

Does anyone know why this is doing this? I literally just purchased (for 0.00) the game off Games With Gold, and it keeps saying I don't own it or insert the disc. Can anyone hhelp?

On your console, go to My Games and Apps. On the left hand side look for 'Gold' as in the picture below.

If yours is like mine, then you own Battlefield One as a GwG title. Remember though, to keep playing this game - and other Xbox One GwG titles, you need an active subscription. Only 360 GwG titles are free games.

Because I've been playing BF1 on EA access, this game also appears in my EA Access installed games:





As for the 'Buy to own' question, I have that same issue. It's likely because BF1 is a GwG title for the next 27 days. When this ends, I presume the 'Buy to Own' will be an option again.

 

Nope, I don't have Battlefield 1 on my Gold list. So how do I add BF1 to gold?

That's odd.

I got the game added to my GwG gold list via the Games with Gold page on the Xbox Store on my console. I simply pressed the 'Get' option. There was a small download, and it now appears on my list.

I actually did this as a curiosity. When I read BF1 was on GwG, I went on the store to see if I could redeem it as a GwG, after all, I already have it as part of the EA vault.

Sometimes however I've had issues with games not showing up on my list. Usually corrected by turning the console completely off and booting back up.

Try power cycling your console and see if you get the option to either 'Get' the game, or it appears on your Ready to Install under Gold. Not that since the last update, there is now a Installed and Ready to Install within these menu's.

 

It does appear under the Installed section of Gold. This means I own this game via GwG?

 

Yep. It means it's yours, as long as you keep subscribing.
