  1. Does this game even matter anymore?

I only played through the first difficulty so my characters stopped in the 40s. I got to where they met the enchantress the second time and I kept wondering why I was doing the same thing all over again. But, I played solo. My son gave it to me but he was
at a much higher level (and far away in a different time zone) so we never played together, plus, I hated the auction house and everything it stood for. I'm not a farmer. When it was revamped, I made whole new characters and it had been long enough that it
was new-ish but it played differently and I felt more capable and I had a lot of gold to buy good gear as soon as I needed it until the drops started getting better.

My son says when he gets a new system he will probably get a PS4. I have considered it but will probably stay with Microsoft even though I'm no fan of microsoft. My gold membership runs through September of next year so I might as well get my money's worth.

There was never any Auction House in the console versions, but I thought they discontinued it in the PC version as well. Regardless...the mods and duplicates, let's just say all of the exploits, ruined the game.

But I just realized that ESO doesn't have an Auction House either, not that I'm opposed or against the concept; I like the idea of going into town where everyone is gathered selling or trying to buy something at a reasonable price...but I also like making
money in the Auction House, the AH in WoW reminded me of the Stock Market seeing prices deflate & inflate. TESOelite.com has a place where folks sell stuff, may come in handy one day.

Ah, but guilds can sell their stuff from the guild bank but I haven't experienced that yet.

  3. The revamp of the computer version of Diablo got rid of the auction house just before the release on the console. I hated it because it was the only way to get anything decent and I don't think that my progress should depend on someone else's good fortune
and my ability to outbid someone. I should be able to find or make what I need which is the way it is now.

There is a lot of agitation for an auction house in ESO on the official forum but I hope they resist the idea. It won't help anything and is counter to the spirit of Elder Scrolls, or at least I think so.

I will still most likely get it, but they had better give us something that pc players don't have. I just hope I don't forget all about this game once titles like Destiny hits.

There are pros & cons by having and not having an Auction House; they already have guild stores...the only reason I would like to see an Auction House would be to help clean up the zone chatter. You've got too many people trying to buy, sell and trade on
top of the people trying to find a pug for dungeons mixed in with guild recruiters and spammers trying to get you to their websites to buy gold. I'm confident the chatter will get worse over time; for the purpose alone an auction house would give those trying
barter a place of their own. Folks will still try to sell their stuff in chat, but not as many.

In the past I've taken advantage of the Auction House when I needed gear for another toon that I was leveling or when I needed a little more materials to make something epic.

However, inevitably Auction Houses do negatively impact the overall economy in the game by deprecating the value of gold and inflating the prices of items resulting in a gap that will continue to widen. But alas, although negative...it's still a functional
somewhat stable economy based on the concept of free trade, whereas by not having an Auction House, it provides an unstable economy that's based on fair trade. (The debate between fair vs free trade will continue on for ages)

Regulating a virtual economy is not impossible, and I do believe ESO is on the right track by making players pay for more features and the more you use a particular feature the more you have to pay. e.g., A user who has no gold will take the time to run
from one city to another, however, a user with gold will port to the Wayshire. The same applies to bag space, when I first started playing I did not mind running back into town to free up space in my inventory but when I noticed that I had 10k gold...I paid
the 400g for 10 more slots, then another 2000g for an additional 10 slots. So the more features ESO continues to add to make game play more convenient as you level will help slow down the depreciation of gold.

  6. The whole storage thing gets really complicated in MMOs and even games like Diablo where there is a shared stash. It makes it difficult to ease the way for a low leveled character because of shared resources. I had a lot easier time starting over in Diablo
just because I had stuff and gold from my higher leveled characters. Even for trifles like dye. If I wanted some I could call one of the level 40s up to run into Caldeum and buy me some dye and put it in the stash. I have noticed though that the console Diablo
doesn't appear to share gold between characters just the stash.

I would like to see player housing with space for displaying personal loot or trophy's or whatever. Keeping stuff like that should not count against your inventory. I have yet to find RPGers who don't hoard stuff. I can see keeping my inventory empty except
for needed equipment but when that gets to be two weapons plus extras for special occasions and extra armor then where is the space for crafting mats and loot and potions and food? Eventually, I will figure out what is important but until I do I am running
out of space. I haven't joined a guild and did not intend to since I will transfer to the console but I begin to wonder if a crafting guild might not be a bad idea.

Good point, what is the purpose of having trophies in ESO? I am keeping the ones I earn but it is an absolute waste of space. And I am guilty of hoarding, especially when I don't fully understand the mechanics of the game because I'm afraid to toss something
    that I might need.

I never purchased the Hearthfire DL; but I heard it made the game enjoyable...I'm sure they will eventually incorporate some type of housing system into the game...I'd be fine with just a guild hall where I could access my bank, do my crafting, and trade
    in a cozy area.

I joined a guild and I have access to the bank but it takes forever to load all the items, I would be interested to join a crafting guild, even though I plan to port my toon as well...if you hear of a good one or decide to venture out and create your own,
    I would definitely be interested.

I have not regrets for not making the purchase. My Vampire Nightblade assassin was never fit to be a parent, spouse or home decorator.

The best thing to do (for any game) is to go into the game with no expectation. If you go into a game expecting it to be of poor quality you are automatically thinking it is poor the first time you turn it on. If you go into a game with no expectation, you
will come out of the game with YOUR OWN opinions and your own reasons for liking or disliking a game.

It is extremely hard to like a game when 6+ months before a game is released all you hear about is negativity.

With that being said, it is the first pay-to-play game on the next-generation of consoles. Whether you like it or not, it DESERVES our attention. Without our attention, no other developers will want to explore the pay-to-play option for future games... think
of all the content and possibilites we may miss out on. Ladies and gentlemen, it is the beginning of a new era. It can only get better from here... but only if we give this new opporunity a chance.
