Does this game even matter anymore?

I would like to at least attempt to defend Zenimax's position. It is clear that the game for PC's isn't that great, with major bugs and such, but, lets remember, MMO's are almost always under constant maintenance due to their size and shape. Plus, the game
is proven to be good when you get into it by many reviewers, and finally, although I am mad at the delay, I imagine they have good reason, and would hope to make it so all these bugs don't exist on the consoles, thus making it easier for us to play. And with
that I can't wait until November when it comes out to get it, because to me it looks great.

    :)

Thanks, I found the message thing and am using it. Seems I'm one of the few offering genuine tips (as I see them), most are trying to bait you over a cliff or to kill a friend or the most lame over-used unoriginal of all "but hole" and/or "try chest then
    but hole".

oh yeah, hilarious after the thouuuuusanth time. Kids, if you haven't got anything original to say you haven't got anything to say.

Make sure your character is light enough to do fast roll. When they take a swing at you roll to their right side and then just stay behind them. They will swing three times (sometimes four) and then pause. Hit them during this pause. You should be able
to get in 4 hits during this time. Two hand your weapon for more damage.

It may take some practice to get this down but its a skill well worth mastering.

I am enjoying *** on the Mac so long as I pick off peak times to play. I really don't like the crowds . It kind of amazes me that so many can be so vehement about how an MZmO is a sovial experience. It's supposed to be about making friends but when I'm
in Auridon all I see are people running through other people and ignoring the simple RP element of attempting to go around. And don't get me started on the rude jerks who ride their horses up stairs and into crafting zones.

That said I'm still learning the topes and hope to be up to speed come Thanksgiving though I'm still not sure which console I'm going to get.

Up to you Lady B. The two consoles aren't really that much different tbh. Just depends what exclusives you are interested in. I like Halo so I always be Xbox.

I'd go with an X1 as well, the only reason I returned mine was because I purchased it with the intention of playing ESO on it. And to my benefit, they dropped prices...I suspect that there will be some black Friday/cyber Tuesday deals on it as well.

  7. Reading my post now, I am not sure what was going on with my typing. I expect I had a cat vying for attention as I typed and judging from the Mzmo I must have been on the iPad. I swear the *** was just ESO. lol

The console choice is now even since it got disconnected from the Kinect without gimping the rest of it. It still irks a bit that we have to pay for Gold to play when the PS4 folk do not. I have less reason to need Gold with the other services from behind
the pay window. I have nothing on the X1 I want to play except ESO but I am still curious about FF IX ARR. One thing playing ESO on the computer has convinced me of is that I truly dislike gaming on one.

I am torn about Diablo III. I have been enjoying it again on the Mac but part of that is because I had so much gold I could start over from scratch and buy real equipment from the start. That made

things better. I can't transfer to console not even to a PS4 though FFXIV is cross platform but I still may get that as well since I think I would like to play the expansion and the new edition due in Nov combines them. Since the first copy was a gift it
won't be like I'm double dipping.

Yeah the issue I have is by the time it hits the game will be old news and at this point I would prefer a elder scrolls for single player or just do a basic 4 player co-op for inviting friends into the game for some fun. In the beginning this is all I ever
wished for was a co-0p style Elder Scrolls game. I don't need a world full of a bunch of randoms who loot the chests before I get their. And I don't want to have to pay people to become a vampire or where wolf.

  9. That's what I always thought. Even as Zenimax was saying how much players wanted an Elder Scrolls MMO, I thought they had missed the point because all I ever read in the forums was how much people wanted to go adventuring with just a few friends in the wide
world of Tamriel., as in coop not mmo.

I think it was just a case of the developers being greedy and trying to provide for the mmo crowd who have been looking for a good subscription based mmo. They may still be able to make it work if they stay on pc only. I don't see them being a multi platform
    subscription based mmo.

Maybe a free to play mmo but they bit off more then they can chew with a trying to make a multi platform subscription mmo that's for sure. Wildstar just launched on pc and is a very popular subscription based mmo and it has oceanic servers so pretty much
everyone who plays mmos in my region is playing that now.

My tune has actually changed from previous posts. ESO is trying to provide something different, IMO the game is tailored for those of us who want to be unsocial & solo but still provides an atmosphere for those who like to socialize & group. I agree w/ xCHEMISTx
in that they did chew off more than what they could handle but ESO is a very different kind of game.

The opportunity was missed to drop what we all hoped to be the MMO of the summer on the console, but with prices on the X1 reduced, I'm sure they'll come out with an in-game offer to get folks in line.

However, free to play attracts too many casual players w/ no MMO experience and ESO already has too many PUGs...I'd rather play with folks that are invested into the game with time & money...which is why I'll be playing on the X1; I might sound like an elitist
but I believe 'you get what you pay for'.

  12. I just got Diablo III for the 360 (it was just 20 on Amazon). I have it on my Mac and have been enjoying it again since the revamp, especially when I really need to whack something. Does this game even matter anymore? :) I decided that would give me a better feel for how ESO would work on
a console since there are more options in Diablo than there were in Torchlight. I can't play very long on the computer without physical discomfort so I needed to filter that out of my thinking.

To be honest, I am such a noob in the MMO world that I have no parameters to judge even expectations by. My son loved Starcraft and from that I got the impression that MMOs were king of the hill with crafting.i don't think my son was into raids and such.
When I read the forums I kind of think MMOs are a legitimate place for people to commit sanctioned murder of real people in a virtual space. I was kind of appalled at the number of people who weren't happy at not being able to whack players anywhere they found
them and thought that players objecting to that were wusses who deserved what they got. You can see my reluctance to enter that world.

On the other side of that coin was a more idealized idea based on anime like .hack/Sign and Sword Art Online. The camaraderie and vibrant worlds (without the being stuck) are very appealing. I would like to be on the edge of that kind of place to see if
my introverted self could fit in. I still have hope for ESO and don't really believe I, personally, can make any real decisions until the console version is up and running. Hopefully there will be a beta.

Does this game even matter anymore?

Ugh!!! Read my posts in the Diablo III forum, lol. It is not an MMO, more like an adventure game w/ a mini pvp arena. The mechanics of the game are good, but it lacks content (especially on the 360 w/ no expansion)...lol whereas ESO has is full of content
but lacks in stability and has mechanics that take some getting used to.

I too would like to go into other zones and gank players, nor would I mind the thrill of wandering off "too far" where I could end up getting ganked. When I first started playing MMOs with PKs & PVP I too was reluctant, but once I got into it I discovered
that it is exciting and breaks away from the mundane PVE material. However, ESO seems to promise much PVE material. To me, all PVE is facing the AI of the game which can be beat; whereas PVP always changes because now your trying to defeat an enemy who is
also trying to adjust to defeat you. I've been in combat that's lasted 1-2 seconds & battles that have lasted minutes - I've been hunted and I have hunted...PVP is so much fun!

I too believe that there is hope for ESO.

  14. I guess it's back to Xbox 360 Skyrim for me. Thanks a lot Bethesda. And I was ready to be a sucker and purchase a subscription via Xbox ONE.

  15. Mal, I wasn't comparing Diablo III to an MMO but rather just thinking of the actual console controls versus the keyboard controls which I am used to. I dislike keyboard controls.

As for sanctioned murder, no, I don't do that nor do I want it done to me. I don't go into dangerous neighborhoods in real life and do not want my fun to be ruined by someone else's idea of fun. I think PvP should be in contained areas where you can commit
mayhem to your hearts delight. Can you see that I am not telling you that your idea of fun is wrong or in any way evil unless and until it impinges on my idea of fun? There are many who want to go your way and I think you should have that option but there
are many who want to go my way and we should be able to smell the flowers without having to worry about more than the known dangers.
