xbox controller not recognized on windows 10

i brought my xbox one s a few months ago aswell as a plug and play charge kit, so my problem is that i can use the micro usb cable that came with the kit to plug my controller into the xbox and it works but when i plug it into my computer it just buzzes
and doesn't pick it up at all

Hi

The play and charge kit should work in the Xbox One S controller however I have seen some people are having problems with this..

Yes it does it will charge those as well as elite controllers.

yes, i use it on my X1s pad. i also use a normal micro USB charger like those that come with mobile phones.

Are they all Microsoft official products? There are many third party controllers and play and charge kits out there. There also is a play and charge kit for the 360 and a separate one for the Xbox one. As there controllers are different also. If you can
try the play and charge kit in an Xbox one controller you will find out which you have. It is really weird that it wont fit.

Unable to locate picture of a Xbox 360 one as we no longer sell them through the Microsoft store. Biggest difference is on the end plugs into controller, is it just a connection like for android phone, or does it have a big end with a kind of HDMI hook up
in center.

Yesterday I purchased a Play and Charge Kit, the doco mentioned a LED on the controller Connection. When I plug it into the Front port of the XBOX One S it flashes once orange and goes out. The controller does vibrate. I presumed the was a fault,
so I took it back to the store, along with my controller, as soon as they plugged it into their XBOX One s It worked fine. I Took it back home and same issue.

As the Controller and Charge pack work fine on another XBOX One S, do I have a faulty unit ????

• Try a different cable

• Plug the cable into the back of the xbox

• Check the usb port on the xbox and see if another controller will work with same setup

Yes the official play and charge kit will work in the Xbox One S controller.

I am unaware if they will be releasing a hardwired controller. If you must play wired, I suggest purchasing a play and charge kit and just leaving the controller plugged in. www.xbox.com/.../play-and-charge-kit

It should work with the charging kit. If you notice, the controller’s battery port has those small terminals meant to make contact with the rechargeable battery. The controllers with the Scorpio and regular Xbox One X consoles are the exact same hardware
models as the ones that come with the Xbox One S.

If you bought the Plug & Play kit brand new, it will need some “calibrating”, meaning you may need to keep the controller plugged into USB until the battery actually charges. Keep it wired to the console overnight, or even for the entire day.
