    does the xbox 360 support external hard drives?


    i am gonna buy a 4 TB external hard drive for my xbox one this week. i know it's overkill but i wanna have a lot of storage space. i was wondering if the xbox 360 also supports external hard drives. cause if they do, i'll buy another 4 TB for my 360. like
    that i can install every game i own on it.

    External Hard-drive Issue

    The 360 does not support external hard drives.But it does support usb flash drives up to 32 GB.

    You can use an external on the 360, but you can only use 32gb of space for Xbox storage. So a 4TB would basically be useless.

    i think the 360 only supports flash drives, not external hard drives, and as the other guy mentioned they can only go up to 32 gb. it's really shity, but at least xbone lets you do externals...as long as they're usb 3.0...

    You can use an external hard drive but, as mentioned, you'll only be able to use 32gb of it.

    If you also use that drive for storing media, then the 32gb of Xbox 360 storage would be a nice little supplement.

    Before the 360 officially ends. I'm going to buy a few 32GB flash drives to put my games and save files on them. Just so I can be safe that my digital files wont become corrupt down the road. I just feel flash drives will keep the files safer.

    Once I get an Xbox One I may just upgrade storage with external HDD too.

    Requires a hard drive.

    You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.

    The Xbox 360 does not officially support external hard drives. If your Xbox is not letting you configure the drive then most likely, the drive just will not work. Sorry but the drive might not meet the performance standards that are necessary.

    Not internally no. The Xbox 360 does support external hard drives up to 2TB, so you can take your old PC drive and insert it into a hard drive enclosure and then plug this into the USB port for extra storage.
