Does the EA Play to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate conversion occur even when you don't have a GPU...

Thanks I'll have a look - so if I buy another 12 month Gold will it then run for 12 months - do I have to deactivate the ultimate or has it done it when it expired

Looking at the conversion rates (12 months Live Gold converts to 4 months GPU), this would track with what you are experiencing.

If it has definitely expired, then you can apply the live gold code

And don't forget...once you have applied the Live Gold code and it is active, if you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, it will automatically convert your Gold to GPU so you get 13 months of GPU (assuming you want GPU of course):

I believe the 1:1 conversion is current..would wait for someone with a bit more knowledge than me to confirm though

Ah, didn't realise EA Play also converted over:

"EA Play for Xbox members who join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will have their EA Play membership on Xbox automatically canceled, and any remaining time will be rounded up and converted to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a ratio of 3:1. That means if you have 90 days left on your EA Play for Xbox membership, it’ll convert to 30 days of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate."

So:

10 months EA Play = 3 months GPU, give or take

1 Month Live Gold = 1 month GPU

1 Month initial GPU

All total 5 months GPU thus bringing you to June

There is no like specific pricing there is a conversion ratio as mentioned:

As you can see, you'll now need to purchase around 18 months of Xbox Live Gold to convert it to 12 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, pushing the price to around $120 instead of the previous $60 when using the conversion method.

With the new Xbox Game Pass price increase, the annual subscription costs around $200 if you're paying monthly, so the conversion trick could still save you around $80 or so if that's what you'd prefer to do.
