Does the Bluray player for xbox one support 4K

I am highly considering purchasing a 4K tv this year for black friday, I am just wondering is the xbox one capable of outputing anything in 4K? Bluray movies? or Arcade games, I know Triple A title games are out of the question

The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

- Game developer has to make the game 4K

- 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)

 

My Bluray 4K works.... but in FULLHD instead of 4K

Hello, my name is Emilio, i bought a new xbox one S last week with a couple of Bluray 4K movies, i have a Samsung 4K TV, and when i connect the Xbox it's working at 4K but, when i played the movie 4K it works in FULLHD instead of 4K, when i finish the movie
and i use Xbox for games, or other thinks it works another time in 4k.

So.... why when i play bluray 4k the definition turns to FULLHD? do you know how to watch the bluray 4k movies in 4K instead of FullHD?

Actually let me rephrase this question.

1. is the bluray player capable of outputing in 4k?

2. are the HDMI cables 2.0? and do they support HDCP 2.2?

3. If I have a 4K Joey from Dish and run the HDMI through Xbox one, is the xbox one HDMI cables capable of outputting DISH's 4k movies

 

No it its not. There are actually only about 2-3 tv stations currently broadcasting in 4k also. Its a relative new technology I would personally wait until the price drops.

 

I saw an article just yesterday that stated both MS and Sony will put out new consoles by 2020 because of a perceived demand for 4k tvs.

 

Red shift1 I saw and read that article. The current gen consoles even if the blu ray player could do 4k the video cards they put in them are outdated to say the least. Get a pc. You will need a nvidia geforce gtx 980 ti card to get 60fps
