Does purchasing games with an xbox gift card send receipts?

So if I do buy something with my gift card is a receipt sent to my email or will nothing happen?

Also sorry if this is not the right place to put this post I have no idea what i'm doing

Xbox Gift Card Balance Not in List of Payment Methods for Xbox 360 Store, but Works Fine with Xbox One Store

Hello,

I am unable to purchase games on the Xbox 360 store using my gift card balance. The gift card balance does not show as an available payment method during checkout. My credit card is the only available method.

However, the gift card balance is available and works fine when purchasing games from the Xbox One store.

Does anyone know why this might be? I couldn't find anything in the forums about this.

Keep in mind you can also buy a game as a gift using the gift card and send it to the other account here's how to do that

Yes, you'll get a receipt sent to the e-mail associated with your account detailing the purchase transaction, regardless of payment method.

like i said if you purchased in game content for the game like robux then you will have received an email as a receipt, if you used gift cards then no receipt.

If you have a receipt for the gift card you could try speaking to where you purchased the gift card from to see if they are able to deactivate this card and supply you a replacement.

There is a phone number to call either on the receipt they gave you were on the card itself. Xbox has no responsibility for gift cards as they are sold by third parties that purchase the codes from Microsoft.

It's not possible to gift a game over Live. If you were to purchase it on your account, it would be tied to your account.

You could either send them a disc or send them a gift card to purchase the game themselves. If you buy a gift card, you would need to make sure the gift card is for his region.
